SEIS SHIMANO ELECTRONIC INTELLIGENT SYSTEM
The innovative shifting technology of the SEIS is still based on the SHIMANO INDEX SYSTEM (SIS), whose outstanding shifting performance has been proven over many years. The main difference between the systems is that shifting is no longer carried out mechanically, but electronically. This electronic gear-changing system has been extensively tested in recent years by several professional cyclists under every conceivable condition, e.g. in rain, mud, extreme cold, on cobblestones and even in combinations of these factors. Shifting is carried out at the simple touch of a button. No physical effort is required to shift gears, which offers significant advantages, as the rider always maintains a firm grip on the handlebars and can concentrate on riding without being distracted by shifting. The gear-changing system enables precise and effortless gear changes in all situations, even with cold hands or when the rider is completely exhausted. Furthermore, gear-changing performance can no longer be impaired by dirty or stretched cables, as the gear-changing signal is transmitted electronically. The control buttons operate in a similar way to mechanical dual-control levers, making it easy to get used to the SEIS.
E-Tube
The E-Tube platform offers optimum flexibility. E-Tube transmits interactive signals and supplies power to all components via ‘plug-and-play’ connections. E-Tube is resistant to corrosion, stretching and frost, and requires minimal maintenance. The SMPCE1 establishes the connection between the PC and the components to update the firmware. Digital devices remain up to date by updating the firmware, ensuring improved performance.
Shimano Shadow RD

The Shimano CS-R8100 is the perfect 12-speed cassette to complement the new Ultegra R8100 groupset. This advanced drivetrain is 100% performance-focused and, thanks to HYPERGLIDE+ technology, represents a true revolution. The smooth shifting of the ULTEGRA R8100 12-speed cassettes lets you climb, sprint or cruise without having to think about the next gear change. Larger cogs maximise drivetrain efficiency whilst remaining compatible with existing 11-speed freehub bodies. The cassette is available in 11-30T and 11-34T configurations.
HYPERGLIDE+ cassettes set new standards for off-road shifting thanks to seamless shifts when moving up or down through the entire gear range. The special design of the new Shimano XT CN-M8100 12-speed chain ensures improved shifting performance and a smoother ride – even on rough terrain. The SM-CN910-12 Quick-Link fastener, which is also new, makes installation easy. The XT CN-M8100 HYPERGLIDE+ chain has been optimised from the ground up and is an integral part of the new drivetrain. With its high-precision contact surfaces for chainring and cassette teeth, it ensures fast, precise and smooth shifting in both directions, even under the heaviest loads. Chrome-plated inner links further increase durability noticeably.

Technologies
SEIS SHIMANO ELECTRONIC INTELLIGENT SYSTEM
The innovative shifting technology of the SEIS is still based on the SHIMANO INDEX SYSTEM (SIS), whose outstanding shifting performance has been proven over many years. The main difference between the systems is that shifting is no longer carried out mechanically, but electronically. This electronic gear-changing system has been extensively tested in recent years by several professional cyclists under every conceivable condition, e.g. in rain, mud, extreme cold, on cobblestones and even in combinations of these factors. Shifting is carried out at the simple touch of a button. No physical effort is required to shift gears, which offers significant advantages, as the rider always maintains a firm grip on the handlebars and can concentrate on riding without being distracted by shifting. The gear-changing system enables precise and effortless gear changes in all situations, even with cold hands or when the rider is completely exhausted. Furthermore, gear-changing performance can no longer be impaired by dirty or stretched cables, as the gear-changing signal is transmitted electronically. The control buttons operate in a similar way to mechanical dual-control levers, making it easy to get used to the SEIS.
E-Tube
The E-Tube platform offers optimum flexibility. E-Tube transmits interactive signals and supplies power to all components via ‘plug-and-play’ connections. E-Tube is resistant to corrosion, stretching and frost, and requires minimal maintenance. The SMPCE1 establishes the connection between the PC and the components to update the firmware. Digital devices remain up to date by updating the firmware, ensuring improved performance.
Shimano Shadow RD
With its sophisticated technology, SHIMANO’s SHADOW rear derailleur is particularly well-suited to a more aggressive riding style. Its extremely low-profile design brings a number of advances. Thanks to its flat design and single-preload construction, the rear derailleur does not strike the chainstay, even under the harshest conditions. The shifting action is smooth and quiet.
