The "brain" of the power meter, the central unit, is located in the crankcase of the ULTEGRA crank, while the strain gauges are integrated into the crank arms and can therefore record the power for left and right separately. The central unit is very compact and, discreetly mounted behind the chainrings, very unobtrusive. This makes the system one of the lightest and most cleanly integrated systems on the market. This design also makes it easy to change chainrings without compromising the accuracy of the power meter. For system checks or firmware updates, SHIMANO's new E-TUBE platform enables the simplest possible Bluetooth-supported communication via smartphones and tablets. To ensure communication with and data display on a variety of bike computers or GPS devices, the power measurement crank has ANT+ in addition to Bluetooth. An integrated, rechargeable battery supplies the power meter with energy. Charging takes place via a small magnetic adapter so that no covers or lids need to be opened and weather resistance is maintained under all circumstances.

HOLLOWTECH II - Perfect balance between stiffness, stability, weight and rotational efficiency
The HOLLOWTECH II technology concept was designed to produce an optimized crankset that minimizes the effort required by the rider to drive the drivetrain. The high rigidity of the crankset ensures efficient power transmission when pedaling, while its low weight takes the strain off the rider, especially on longer rides. The crankset was developed with a view to achieving an optimum balance between stiffness and low weight. HOLLOWTECH technology enables extremely light, hollow crankarms that are manufactured using SHIMANO's exclusive forging technology to achieve maximum stiffness. In addition, the HOLLOWTECH II crankset has the right crank firmly connected to the axle of the bottom bracket, which achieves an optimum balance between maximum stiffness and minimum weight. The externally mounted bottom bracket offers better weight distribution and more stability, which ensures more efficient power transmission.
The innovative shifting technology of the SEIS is still based on the SHIMANO INDEX SYSTEM (SIS), whose outstanding shifting performance has proven itself over many years. The main difference between the systems is that the shifting process is no longer mechanical but electronic. This electronic shifting system has been extensively tested in recent years by several professional cyclists under all conceivable conditions, e.g. rain, mud, extreme cold, cobblestones and a combination of these factors. Shifting is done by simply pressing a button. No effort is required to shift gears, which has clear advantages as the rider always has a firm grip on the handlebars and can concentrate on riding without being distracted by shifting gears. The shifting system enables precise and effortless shifting in all situations, even with cold hands or when the rider is completely exhausted. The shifting performance can also no longer be affected by dirty or stretched cables, as the shift signal is transmitted electronically. The operating buttons work in a similar way to mechanical dual control levers, making it easy to get used to the SEIS.

Technologies
Power meterThe "brain" of the power meter, the central unit, is located in the crankcase of the ULTEGRA crank, while the strain gauges are integrated into the crank arms and can therefore record the power for left and right separately. The central unit is very compact and, discreetly mounted behind the chainrings, very unobtrusive. This makes the system one of the lightest and most cleanly integrated systems on the market. This design also makes it easy to change chainrings without compromising the accuracy of the power meter. For system checks or firmware updates, SHIMANO's new E-TUBE platform enables the simplest possible Bluetooth-supported communication via smartphones and tablets. To ensure communication with and data display on a variety of bike computers or GPS devices, the power measurement crank has ANT+ in addition to Bluetooth. An integrated, rechargeable battery supplies the power meter with energy. Charging takes place via a small magnetic adapter so that no covers or lids need to be opened and weather resistance is maintained under all circumstances.

HOLLOWTECH II - Perfect balance between stiffness, stability, weight and rotational efficiency
The HOLLOWTECH II technology concept was designed to produce an optimized crankset that minimizes the effort required by the rider to drive the drivetrain. The high rigidity of the crankset ensures efficient power transmission when pedaling, while its low weight takes the strain off the rider, especially on longer rides. The crankset was developed with a view to achieving an optimum balance between stiffness and low weight. HOLLOWTECH technology enables extremely light, hollow crankarms that are manufactured using SHIMANO's exclusive forging technology to achieve maximum stiffness. In addition, the HOLLOWTECH II crankset has the right crank firmly connected to the axle of the bottom bracket, which achieves an optimum balance between maximum stiffness and minimum weight. The externally mounted bottom bracket offers better weight distribution and more stability, which ensures more efficient power transmission.
The innovative shifting technology of the SEIS is still based on the SHIMANO INDEX SYSTEM (SIS), whose outstanding shifting performance has proven itself over many years. The main difference between the systems is that the shifting process is no longer mechanical but electronic. This electronic shifting system has been extensively tested in recent years by several professional cyclists under all conceivable conditions, e.g. rain, mud, extreme cold, cobblestones and a combination of these factors. Shifting is done by simply pressing a button. No effort is required to shift gears, which has clear advantages as the rider always has a firm grip on the handlebars and can concentrate on riding without being distracted by shifting gears. The shifting system enables precise and effortless shifting in all situations, even with cold hands or when the rider is completely exhausted. The shifting performance can also no longer be affected by dirty or stretched cables, as the shift signal is transmitted electronically. The operating buttons work in a similar way to mechanical dual control levers, making it easy to get used to the SEIS.

With its sophisticated technology, the SHADOW rear derailleur from SHIMANO is particularly suitable for a more aggressive riding style. The extremely minimized profile brings a number of advances with it. Thanks to its flat design and single-bias construction, the rear derailleur does not hit the chainstay even under the roughest conditions. The derailleur works cleanly and quietly.

Sehr gute Gruppe, wie von Shimano gewohnt. Besonders interessant ist die Kombination mit der Powermeter-Kurbel zu einem attraktiven Preis. Toll ist auch, dass hier moderne, kurze Kurbellängen zur Auswahl stehen. Die Montage war problemlos, da alles Nötige im Lieferumfang enthalten war. Verpackung top, Lieferzeit vorbildlich. Bin sehr zufrieden! Freue mich auf die Montage*****
