Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Shimano 105 Di2 FD-R7150 2x12-speed front derailleur braze-on
The Shimano 105 Di2 FD-R7150 2x12-speed front derailleur offers precise and coordinated shifting. The electronic shifting processes of the SHIMANO Di2 system facilitate shifting from the large to the small chainring and vice versa and reduce the risk of a chain jumping off. In addition, rear shifting no longer requires retrimming the derailleur to prevent the chain from dragging. The new wireless Di2 platform ensures fast and smooth shifting at the front derailleur. It also offers a choice between manual shifting and synchronised shift assist modes - SEMI-SYNCHRO or FULL-SYNCHRO - that feel like your own personal assistant! In SEMI-SYNCHRO mode, the rear derailleur automatically adjusts to avoid large jumps in the gear ratio, allowing you to maintain your cadence and rhythm. In FULL SYNCHRO mode, the rear derailleur and front derailleur work together harmoniously so that you always have the right gear engaged and no longer need to worry. Seamless communication with the rear derailleur combined with programmed control of the chain guide minimises the risk of the chain jumping off. The maximum number of teeth is 50-52. It's entirely up to you how often you want to think about the gear ratio!
The fully and semi-synchronised shifting functions can be selected in the E-TUBE app. Thanks to the digital precision of the electronic shifting and its coordinated communication between the front derailleur and rear derailleur, the SHIMANO 105 front derailleur offers an excellent shifting experience

Technologies
SEIS SHIMANO ELECTRONIC INTELLIGENT SYSTEM The innovative shifting technology of the SEIS is still based on the SHIMANO INDEX SYSTEM (SIS), whose outstanding shifting performance has proven itself over many years. The main difference between the systems is that the shifting process is no longer mechanical but electronic. This electronic shifting system has been extensively tested in recent years by several professional cyclists under all conceivable conditions, e.g. rain, mud, extreme cold, cobblestones and a combination of these factors. Shifting is done by simply pressing a button. No effort is required to change gear, which has clear advantages as the rider always has a firm grip on the handlebars and can concentrate on riding without being distracted by changing gear. The shifting system enables precise and effortless shifting in all situations, even with cold hands or when the rider is completely exhausted. The shifting performance can also no longer be affected by dirty or stretched cables, as the shift signal is transmitted electronically. The operating buttons work in a similar way to mechanical dual control levers, making it easy to get used to the SEIS.
E-Tube
The E-Tube platform offers optimum flexibility. E-Tube transmits interactive signals and supplies all parts with power via "plug & play" connections. E-Tube is resistant to corrosion, expansion and frost and guarantees low maintenance. And the SMPCE1 establishes the connection between PC and components to update the firmware. Digital devices stay up to date by updating the firmware and provide better function.
HOLLOWGLIDE - Hollow large chainring
The extremely rigid hollow structure reduces weight without compromising strength. Better power transmission and faster, more precise front shifting.
HOLLOWTECH II - Perfect balance between stiffness, stability, weight and rotational efficiency
The HOLLOWTECH II technology concept was designed to produce an optimised crankset that minimises the effort required by the rider to drive the drivetrain. The high rigidity of the crankset ensures efficient power transmission when pedalling, while its low weight takes the strain off the rider, especially on longer journeys. The crankset was developed with a view to optimising the ratio between stiffness and low weight. HOLLOWTECH technology enables extremely light, hollow crankarms that are manufactured using SHIMANO's exclusive forging technology to maximise stiffness. In addition, the HOLLOWTECH II crankset has the right crank firmly connected to the axle of the bottom bracket, which achieves an optimum balance between maximum stiffness and minimum weight. The externally mounted bottom bracket offers better weight distribution and more stability, which ensures more efficient power transmission.
Shimano Shadow RD
With its sophisticated technology, the SHIMANO SHADOW rear derailleur is particularly suitable for a more aggressive riding style. The extremely minimised profile brings with it a number of advances. Thanks to its flat design and single-bias construction, the rear derailleur does not hit the chainstay even under the roughest conditions. The derailleur works cleanly and quietly.
