Product information "Spark RC SL (TW) Carbon Black (New with a paint fault)"

This Spark RC SL (TW) Carbon Black from Scott is a new item with paintwork imperfections. The carbon full-suspension bike has minor cosmetic flaws (scratches on the brake lever and crankset), which do not affect its functionality in any way.

The Scott Spark RC SL offers the ideal combination of cutting-edge carbon engineering, an unprecedented level of integration and just the right amount of secret ingredients. Scott set out to make this platform faster than ever before, whether heading uphill or down the trail. Scott has increased the suspension travel, refined the geometry and incorporated tips and requests from the world’s best athletes to develop the best cross-country bike of all time. If you love speed, then you’ll love this bike too.

Technologies

Easy access to the shock
Access to the shock via the bottom bracket area is made easier by a flap. This makes adjusting rebound, compression and shock pressure a breeze and allows for the installation or replacement of the cable for the TwinLoc suspension system.

Adjustable head tube angle
On the new Spark, the head angle can be adjusted by 0.6 degrees, either flatter or steeper. This can be done without shortening the cables or bleeding the brakes. All you need to do is dismantle the handlebars, rotate the headset by 180 degrees and reassemble the handlebars.

Patented integrated suspension system
Thanks to the integrated suspension platform, Scott can improve suspension characteristics without compromising on weight. On bikes at this level, even the smallest improvement in the marginal range often becomes particularly important. For a suspension shock to deliver optimum performance, power transmission must be as direct as possible. Above all, Scott aims to prevent inefficient movements – in other words, lateral movements (perpendicular to the direction of travel) – as the shock absorbs compression. An integrated shock allows Scott to improve this in a number of ways. Firstly, the frame construction around the shock and featuring the trunnion mount can be made much stiffer, thereby reducing movement and enabling more efficient power transfer. Furthermore, Scott can fit a larger bearing at the seat tube pivot, thereby reinforcing this area and reducing unnecessary movement. The integrated suspension technology ensures that the shock can be positioned lower down in the frame, resulting in a lower centre of gravity. Consequently, the bike offers better handling and, as a result, greater stability and confidence for the rider. Taken individually, this may seem like a minor improvement, but taken as a whole it leads to significantly more efficient shock performance. Furthermore, the shock is fully protected from external influences. A wet race? No problem – your shock will continue to perform perfectly.

Suspension with a single pivot
Full-suspension bikes would be only half as successful without an optimal suspension layout. From the very first moment Scott sat on the Spark, they fell in love with the single-pivot layout. Even years later, Scott still believes it’s the best approach for technical cross-country races and fast, crisp singletrack. The Spark’s suspension layout features very specific and tried-and-tested kinematics, as well as less unsprung mass. The use of a flex pivot on the seatstay is an ideal solution for bikes in this travel range. This allows Scott to achieve a very lightweight system whilst guaranteeing optimum suspension performance.
Syncros Fraser iC Combo
The New Spark is fitted with a completely new Fraser iC Combo from Syncros. Cable integration presents a number of unique challenges, and the Fraser was developed in part to address these. The designers at Syncros have shaped the component so that the cables run beneath the handlebars and along the sides of the stem before disappearing into the headset via integrated plastic parts, ensuring everything remains neat and efficient. This prevents kinks and bends in the cables and ensures a minimalist front end. All our handlebars and stems feature multiple options for computer, light and camera mounts, both on top of and underneath the handlebars.
