Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Product information "TS-4.3 Truing Stand"
Easy handling - the Park Tool TS-4.3 truing stand
The TS-4.3 truing stand is characterized by its enlarged dimensions: higher supports, a wider base and oversized measuring probes. This design makes it possible to accommodate almost any wheel and tire combination, including fatbike tires and aero rims up to 29 inch+. Quick adjustment to different hub and rim widths is effortless via an ergonomically designed rotary knob.
The sturdy posts of the TS-4.3 have integrated thru-axle adapters. This ensures compatibility with thru-axle, quick-release and solid axle hubs without the use of additional adapters. The generously dimensioned measuring sensors offer enough space for practically any tire so that it does not have to be removed for centering - an advantage especially for tubeless setups.
Robust construction and durability
The TS-4.3 truing stand is made of durable, powder-coated heavy-duty steel. It is manufactured, assembled and calibrated in St. Paul, Minnesota. Sturdy, comfortable knobs and spring-loaded probes and measuring arm ensure smooth and consistent operation. Replaceable composite tips on the probes protect painted rims and delicate materials from damage. The stand is fully adjustable and can be serviced when required, providing a lifetime of use.
