Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Frame-size in cm: multiply your Inside leg length by the factor 0.61. Frame size in inch: multiply your Inside leg length by the factor 0.24.If the theoretical value lies between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- Rather the smaller frame size when riding sportsmanlikely
- Rather the next frame in size when riding tour-orientated
- Deduct approx. 5 cm (or 2 inches respectively) of the theoretical size when using spring-mounted seat posts.

Average rating of 3 out of 5 stars
I must agree with all posted reviews regarding the stand robustness and unfortunately the necessity of calibration whenever the arm with calipers is moved. No wonder if one looks at the right side where the arm is fixed and how it is fixed. It is floating! It can never be calibrated forever. Good gauge should have been delivered with the stand.

Great tool, very sturdy and comes at a great price!

Passt so halbwegs...

This is my first and only truing stand (with truing stand), so bear in mind when reading this comment (also, see my comment of the "Radon Centering Gauge for R513". Mechanically, the stand is quite robust and I have no doubts it will last lifetime. Unfortunately, I only recently noticed dent in my stand, I am not sure if it was there since arrival (so I don't take this into account for the stars I gave) It is likely that the stand will have to be calibrated before the first use (this most likely happens during the shipping). At least, mine was way out of calibration so I had to buy the calibration gauge afterwards as well. Also, I have doubts about longevity of the calibration - I have used it few times already, but I had to slightly re-calibrate it each time. The upright arms stay calibrated, but the arm with the (plastic) rim calipers is problematic for me. It goes out of calibration when moved between the desk and shelf or while stored on the shelf. Also, it is a bit tricky to get it calibrated by the two adjustment screws at the base - you need to play a lot with it to get it within reasonable precision. The plastic rim calipers also need a bit of attention when used - opening/closing of the "jaw" is not completely symmetric, it is kind of "by steps", when at first one side opens/closes a bit more and the other side will catch up only a bit later. I think the final precision that can be reached with the radon centering gauge is around +-(1-2)mm, if you set it really well. I think I have got around +-(3-4)mm precision right now (including dishing), so more-or less fine for "home use" and if I buy/build really nice wheels I can get it even better. If you want better precision, definitely do try to calibrate it with something better, not the Radon Gauge (or similar such as from SuperB), but maybe Park Tool 1554-1 calibration gauge will work better.

Good stand. Does what it is supposed to. Takes a bit of dialing in at first. Note that the product description says that 29'' wheels only fit without the tire. In fact they fit fine with tire also ( at least with 2,25 Rocket Rons ).
Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars
