Product information "X01 Eagle 12-speed Chain Hollow Pin"

It might look normal from the outside, but the engineering inside this incredible chain design makes possible a gear range previously found only in 2-chainring drivetrains.

And it's also the biggest contributor to the Eagle drivetrain's ultra-smooth, precise, durable and quiet performance. The Eagle chain's links have a smooth radius, with no sharp edges or chamfers, which yield a significant reduction in noise, friction and wear on chainrings and cassette cogs. This design also allows for a flatter plate, which means more consistent chain riveting and greater overall strength. HARD CHROME technology extends the chain's optimal performance life.

Technologies

Hard Chrome
The SRAM HARD CHROME chain has four times the elongation (wear) resistance to our other chains. This is due to the new finishing process on the inner links and rollers. Push pin strength and ultimate strength are equivalent to our current chains. The HARD CHROME chain lasts longer and is just as strong.

Powerlock
SRAM chain engineers developed PowerLock as a tool free, sure, and consistent way to connect our chains. While PL does not require special tools for install, the especially tight tolerances of 10- and 11-speed drivetrains mandate that each PowerLock is good for a one-time application only.

X-Sync
SRAM X-SYNC 1x chainrings provide the highest level of performance and durability. The SRAM X-SYNC tall square teeth edges engage the chain earlier than traditional triangle shaped teeth. The sharp and narrow tooth profile, as well as rounded chamfer edges, help manage a deflected chain. To provide the best possible performance in muddy conditions, the X-SYNC chainrings have been designed with mud-clearing recesses for the inner chain links and rollers. Engineered in Germany, X-SYNC rings are an integral part of the SRAM 1x drivetrain. Accept no imitation.

Fantastic chain. No longer am I a KMC fanboy, not for EAGLE drive trains... I've tried NX, GX, and X01 chains, and also KMC X12 chains including the blingy gold KMC X12 Ti-Ni chain. Foreword; I use chains to the same stretch/wear point intervals and then rotate them until they are all 0.5% stretched and chuck them. I measure chains across the entire length of 116 links on a hanging nail and a marked wall. And the chain are measured after a thorough degreasing. So far, I've not reached 0.5% stretch with any of them yet. Here are the results for my first interval at around 0.2% stretch/wear. The KMC X12 Ti-Ni was by far the worst. It took just 800km to reach 0.2% The NX and GX both took around 1400km to reach 0.2% The X01 chain is at 1100km and it's just too hard to measure the stretch from it's new mark. Around 0.3 or 0.4mm longer than new. I measured the NX chain around 1000km and it was around 0.1% worn. So the X01 chain is taking longer to wear than any of the above chains. I find the NX chain excellent value, although it can rust easily if not kept dry and clean. I ride in dusty desert conditions with about 250-300m of climbing across 30-40km of riding. Kitted, I weigh around 95KG.
