Furthermore, rear shifting no longer requires readjustment of the derailleur to prevent the chain from rubbing. The new wireless Di2 platform ensures fast and smooth shifting at the front derailleur. It also offers a choice between manual shifting and synchronised shifting assist modes – SEMI-SYNCHRO or FULL-SYNCHRO – which feel just like having your own personal assistant! In SEMI-SYNCHRO mode, the rear derailleur automatically adjusts to avoid large jumps in gear ratio, allowing you to maintain your cadence and rhythm. In FULL-SYNCHRO mode, the rear derailleur and front derailleur work together seamlessly, ensuring you’re always in the right gear and don’t have to worry about a thing. Seamless communication with the rear derailleur, combined with programmed chain-guidance control, minimises the risk of the chain coming off. The maximum number of teeth is 50–52. SEIS SHIMANO ELECTRONIC INTELLIGENT SYSTEM The innovative shifting technology of the SEIS continues to be based on the SHIMANO INDEX SYSTEM (SIS), whose outstanding shifting performance has been proven over many years. The main difference between the systems is that shifting is no longer carried out mechanically, but electronically. This electronic gear-changing system has been extensively tested in recent years by several professional cyclists under every conceivable condition, e.g. in the rain, mud, extreme cold, on cobblestones and even when these factors are combined. Shifting is carried out at the simple touch of a button. No physical effort is required to shift gears, which offers significant advantages, as the rider always maintains a firm grip on the handlebars and can concentrate on riding without being distracted by shifting. The gear-changing system enables precise and effortless gear changes in all situations, even with cold hands or when the rider is completely exhausted. Furthermore, gear-changing performance can no longer be impaired by dirty or stretched cables, as the gear-changing signal is transmitted electronically. The control buttons operate in a similar way to mechanical dual-control levers, making it easy to get used to the SEIS.
E-Tube
The E-Tube platform offers optimum flexibility. E-Tube transmits interactive signals and supplies power to all components via ‘plug-and-play’ connections. E-Tube is resistant to corrosion, stretching and frost, and ensures low maintenance requirements. The SMPCE1 establishes the connection between the PC and the components to update the firmware. Digital devices remain up to date by updating the firmware and offer improved functionality.
HOLLOWGLIDE – Large hollow chainring
The extremely rigid hollow structure reduces weight whilst maintaining the same strength. Better power transfer and faster, more precise front derailleur shifting.
HOLLOWTECH II – Perfect balance between stiffness, stability, weight and rotational efficiency
The HOLLOWTECH II technology was designed to produce an optimised crankset that minimises the effort required by the rider to drive the bike. The high stiffness of the crankset ensures efficient power transfer whilst pedalling, whilst its low weight reduces the rider’s effort, particularly over longer distances. The crankset was developed with a view to achieving an optimal balance between stiffness and low weight. HOLLOWTECH technology enables extremely lightweight, hollow crank arms, which are manufactured using SHIMANO’s exclusive forging technology to achieve maximum stiffness. Furthermore, in the HOLLOWTECH II crankset, the right-hand crank is firmly connected to the bottom bracket spindle, achieving an optimal balance between maximum stiffness and minimum weight. In FULL-SYNCHRO mode, the rear derailleur and front derailleur work together seamlessly, ensuring you’re always in the right gear and don’t have to worry about a thing. Seamless communication with the rear derailleur, combined with programmed chain-guidance control, minimises the risk of the chain coming off. The maximum number of teeth is 50–52. It’s entirely up to you how often you want to think about the gear ratio!
In the E-TUBE app, you can select between fully and semi-synchronised shifting modes. Shimano 105 Di2 RD-R7150 12-speed rear derailleur
The Shimano 105 Di2 RD-R7150 12-speed SHADOW RD+ rear derailleur ensures fast and precise gear changes and is compatible with 11-34 and 11-36 cassettes. The wireless Di2 system offers faster and more precise gear changes at the rear derailleur. The more compact design integrates the wireless unit, charging port and function button. Battery level and Bluetooth/ANT pairing status can be checked via a cycle computer, smartphone or tablet. You can also select your preferred shifting mode and view information on the adjustment mode (for setting up or fine-tuning the rear derailleur).
Triggered by the wireless shift signal from the shift lever, the extremely powerful motor in the SHIMANO 105 rear derailleur, working in conjunction with the optimised cable routing, completes a gear change in a fraction of a second. The rear derailleur is the heart of the Di2 system and combines a charging port, LED indicators, adjustment switches and more in a compact package. Its low-profile design reduces the risk of damage from contact or falls.

SEIS SHIMANO ELECTRONIC INTELLIGENT SYSTEM The innovative shifting technology of the SEIS continues to be based on the SHIMANO INDEX SYSTEM (SIS), whose outstanding shifting performance has been proven over many years. The main difference between the systems is that shifting is no longer carried out mechanically, but electronically. This electronic gear-changing system has been extensively tested in recent years by several professional cyclists under every conceivable condition, e.g. in the rain, mud, extreme cold, on cobblestones and even when these factors are combined. Shifting is carried out at the simple touch of a button. No physical effort is required to shift gears, which offers significant advantages, as the rider always maintains a firm grip on the handlebars and can concentrate on riding without being distracted by shifting. The gear-changing system enables precise and effortless gear changes in all situations, even with cold hands or when the rider is completely exhausted. Furthermore, gear-changing performance can no longer be impaired by dirty or stretched cables, as the gear-changing signal is transmitted electronically. The control buttons operate in a similar way to mechanical dual-control levers, making it easy to get used to the SEIS.
E-Tube
The E-Tube platform offers optimum flexibility. E-Tube transmits interactive signals and supplies power to all components via ‘plug-and-play’ connections. E-Tube is resistant to corrosion, stretching and frost, and ensures low maintenance requirements. The SMPCE1 establishes the connection between the PC and the components to update the firmware. Digital devices remain up to date by updating the firmware and offer improved functionality.
HOLLOWGLIDE – Large hollow chainring
The extremely rigid hollow structure reduces weight whilst maintaining the same strength. Better power transfer and faster, more precise front derailleur shifting.
HOLLOWTECH II – Perfect balance between stiffness, stability, weight and rotational efficiency
The HOLLOWTECH II technology was designed to produce an optimised crankset that minimises the effort required by the rider to drive the bike. The high stiffness of the crankset ensures efficient power transfer whilst pedalling, whilst its low weight reduces the rider’s effort, particularly over longer distances. The crankset was developed with a view to achieving an optimal balance between stiffness and low weight. HOLLOWTECH technology enables extremely lightweight, hollow crank arms, which are manufactured using SHIMANO’s exclusive forging technology to achieve maximum stiffness. Furthermore, in the HOLLOWTECH II crankset, the right-hand crank is firmly connected to the bottom bracket spindle, achieving an optimal balance between maximum stiffness and minimum weight. The external bottom bracket offers better weight distribution and greater stability, ensuring more efficient power transfer.
Shimano Shadow RD
With its sophisticated technology, the SHIMANO SHADOW rear derailleur is particularly well-suited to a more aggressive riding style. Its extremely low-profile design brings a number of advances. Thanks to its flat design and construction based on single preload, the rear derailleur does not strike the chainstay, even under the harshest conditions. The shifting action is smooth and quiet.
