The Explorer sole ensures excellent power transmission to the pedal area and the Michelin rubber tread, 28% stronger than the TPU, guarantees excellent grip on all terrains. The upper has the Overlap construction, made with the most innovative materials, which uniformly wraps the foot without any pressure point, helping to transfer every watt of power and eliminating the dispersion of energy.
The toe is reinforced with TPU to provide maximum protection. An easy and even closure system is guaranteed by the SLW2 dial, the only one with a step-by-step release, which allows a millimetric adjustment of the shoe in a quick and intuitive way. The new Easyfit Climaflex collar combines the extreme elasticity of the Lycra with the high thermal insulation of the Neoprene, increasing mobility and protection.
The wrapping and positioning of the heel are enabled by a solid thermoformed buttress, in addition to the Arctic 4Layer insole built in Eva + Aluminum + Eva + Pile, which ensures excellent thermal insulation.
For added safety, the 360 ° Reflective inserts guarantee excellent visibility on the road.

Sock Tips
The sock you put on with your Gore-Tex® footwear is very important. Although highly padded socks can seem like the natural choice to protect your feet from cold, they tend to absorb the sweat produced by the foot, creating an uncomfortable sensation of moisture and wet. This is not related to the shoes, which are completely waterproof. We recommend you to use only reduced thickness socks, made with specific technical yarns which expel the moisture, in order to facilitate the evaporation through the membrane’s breathable pores.Technologies

Northwave developed this sole with Michelin Technical Soles to combine XC performance with the traction to walk securely on any terrain. The calibrated stiffness midsole unleashes pure power in the pedal area, while the more flexible medial zone makes it feel great when walking. The tread, whose pattern is inspired by two Michelin off-road tyres, and the outer shell are made from 100% Michelin rubber which is 28% more wear resistant than TPU and delivers excellent grip in all weathers.

Endlich keine kalten Füße mehr im Winter. Ich habe die Schuhe bei ca.3-4 Grad+ mit dünnen Socken ausprobiert. Die Füße waren durchweg mollig warm. Ich denke bei Temperaturen über 10 Grad könnte es fast schon zu warm werden. Ich trage normalerweise Schuhgröße 43 und habe diese Schuhe in der Größe 44 bestellt. Das war für mich so genau richtig. So bekomme ich locker auch noch dicke Socken rein wenn's kälter wird. Die Schuhe sind sehr angenehm zu tragen und lassen sich perfekt mit dem Schließ System einstellen. Die Lieferung war wie immer bei Bike Discount sehr schnell und problemlos.
Ich habe den Schuh in Größe 46, eine Nummer größer als bei meinen Straßenschuhen, gekauft. Das ist so in Ordnung. Der Schuh schließt den Fuß angenehm ein, nicht üppig weit, aber auch nicht zu schmal. Das Anziehen ist nicht so leicht. Die Neoprengamasche ist recht eng. Mit Schuhlöffel und ein paar Mal üben gelingt es ganz ordentlich. Der Schuh ist innen mit einem vliesähnlichen Material gefüttert. Zum Wärmeverhalten kann ich keine Aussage treffen, denn ich habe ihn bei niedrigen Temperaturen noch nicht getragen. Vom Gefühl ist es auf keinen Fall schlechter als bei meinen alten Winterschuhen.
Der Drehverschluss ist beim ersten Einstieg befremdlich. Nachdem man das doch recht simple Prinzip verstanden hat, macht der Schuh sehr schnell Spaß. Das Tragegefühl ist toll, nirgends drückt was und die Neoprensocke schließt im unteren Schienbeinbereich komplett ab. Die Füße haben dank der GTX Membran ein super Klima und bleiben warm. Größe 43 passt auf Anhieb so gut wie bei meinen sonstigen Schuhen.
