Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Frame-size in cm: multiply your Inside leg length by the factor 0.61. Frame size in inch: multiply your Inside leg length by the factor 0.24.If the theoretical value lies between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- Rather the smaller frame size when riding sportsmanlikely
- Rather the next frame in size when riding tour-orientated
- Deduct approx. 5 cm (or 2 inches respectively) of the theoretical size when using spring-mounted seat posts.

Product information "Himalaya - MTB Winter Shoes"
Despite the elements: with the Himalaya of Northwave
With this shoe you can ride both platform and click pedals. To install cleats, simply unscrew a piece of the rubber sole. Speaking of soles, this comes from Michelin and offers excellent grip on all surfaces due to the 2 different composite materials, without losing stability and stiffness, so that you still get enough power on the pedals.
The MTB shoe has an SL2 closure system, which is complemented by a longer power strap with custom-design ankle and ankle entry closures for effective weather protection.
Features - Himalaya
- Michelin Rock’R sole with 2 different compounds and calibrated stiffness provides excellent grip on all surfaces and enhanced stability
- The leather upper with a protective waterrepellent film and Thinsulate® 400 g lining delivers outstanding warmth and insulation even in the coldest weather
- Highly abrasion-resistant rubber reinforcements ensure 360° protection along the entire upper
- The SL2 super-quick lacing and longer power strap with custom-designed closures for the ankle and instep provide reliable weather protection and the snuggest fit around the ankle
- Reinforced rubber heel enhances protection from bumps
- Arctic GTX footbed with a four-layer aluminium and fleece construction to deliver outstanding warmth and insulation
- Large reflective inserts for enhanced visibility
- The toe mount is designed for gaiter attachment
Technology
Thinsulate®
The unique microfibers of Thinsulate Insulation are nearly 10 times thinner than the polyester fibers normally used in insulation for winter clothing. Thinsulate® Insulation fibers are ideal for insulating air and reflecting back the body’s radiant heat, allowing body moisture to escape and evaporate at the same time.

Superb. Warm, dry feet...at last. I use with Grip Grab gators to stop water getting in from the top.

Great winter shoes by NW! And I mean the russian winter, they are good down to -10C with merino socks. At +7C they are also ok with regular cotton socks. Sizing is very accurate, I have 28.5mm sole and 44 size is perfect, my regular shoes are also 44. 100% waterproof, my feet are always dry.

The shoes look awesome and they fit perfectly to my feet. I didn't feel any discomfort after putting them on. Unfortunately the upper is quite narrow and did not fit my fat ankle and calf - could not do the shoes up. Regretfully I had to return the shoes and didn't have opportunity to test them outdoors.
