Technologies
Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tyres offer many advantages: you can ride with lower air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And with no inner tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tyres are better suited to fitting with sealant than other ‘Tubeless Ready’ tyres. The bead of our TR tyres is completely covered with a rubber layer, just like a genuine UST tubeless tyre. This ensures that tubeless fitting on all standard-sized rims is successful from the very first inflation and with minimal sealant.
EXO+ Protection
The new EXO+ carcass is based on a 60 TPI carcass coated with abrasion-resistant rubber. The tyre sidewalls feature a reinforced, rubberised EXO puncture protection layer, and there is a short butyl insert above the tyre bead. This means that tyres with EXO+ Protection are designed for aggressive trail riding and lighter enduro racing, and are particularly well-suited to the higher torque and weight of e-MTBs.
3C MaxxTerra
The ideal 3C compound for our enduro and freeride tyres. Smooth rolling uphill and excellent grip downhill are just as much a hallmark of this compound as its long service life.
Wide Trail Casing (WT)
Our Wide Trail (WT) construction optimises the tread pattern and tyre shape for today’s modern, wider rims. Traditional tyres are designed for narrow rims and take on an overly angular shape on wide rims, resulting in less than optimal performance. WT tyres are optimised for an internal rim width of 35 mm, but perform excellently on all rims with an internal width between 30 and 39 mm.
