Product information "Minion DHR II 29x2.40 WT TR EXO+ 3C MaxxTerra E-25 folding tyre"

Thanks to its completely new tread pattern, the Maxxis Minion DHR II is the ideal tyre for aggressive gravity riding. Featuring the side knobs from the legendary Minion DHF – which have been carried over to the DHR II and widened – the DHR II grips the corners like no other.

The wide, bevelled centre knobs improve acceleration, whilst the notches provide a smooth transition when turning. The paddle-shaped knobs in the centre dig in during hard braking and stabilise the bike.

Technologies

Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tyres on bikes offer many advantages. You can ride with lower air pressure, which gives you better traction; rolling resistance is lower than with an inner tube; and using a sealant instead of an inner tube significantly reduces the risk of punctures, as small holes are easily sealed. In MTB competitions, TR tyres are now almost exclusively used, and their popularity is also growing steadily amongst road cyclists.

EXO+ Protection
The new EXO+ carcass is based on a 60 TPI carcass coated with abrasion-resistant rubber. The tyre sidewalls feature a reinforced, rubberised EXO puncture protection layer, and there is a short butyl insert above the tyre bead. This means that tyres with EXO+ Protection are designed for aggressive trail riding and lighter enduro races, and are particularly well-suited to the higher torque and weight of e-MTBs.

3C MaxxTerra
As a single-compound tyre, the new MaxxTerra rubber compound is the logical evolution of the previous MaxxTerra triple-compound tyre. Developed in the lab and perfected by team and test riders on trails around the world, it delivers more grip and longer durability whilst maintaining consistently low rolling resistance. In figures, tread life has been increased by 30 per cent and grip by 15 per cent. This means better performance and more riding enjoyment, and less time spent changing tyres.

Wide Trail Casing

  • The Wide Trail (WT) construction optimises the tread pattern and tyre shape for today’s modern, wider rims. Traditional tyres are designed for narrow rims and take on an overly angular shape on wide rims, resulting in less-than-optimal performance.
  • WT tyres are optimised for an internal rim width of 35 mm, but perform excellently on all rims with an internal width between 30 and 40 mm.
