Double Down
Doubledown tyres are constructed in the same way as our downhill tyres: two carcass plies reinforced with a butyl insert in the sidewall. However, thanks to two 120 TPI (instead of 60 TPI) casing plies and an aramid bead, they are significantly lighter than our downhill tyres, considerably more stable and robust than our TR + EXO tyres, and therefore ideal for tough enduro courses.
MaxxTerra
As a single-compound tyre, the new MaxxTerra rubber compound is the logical evolution of the previous MaxxTerra triple-compound tyre. Developed in the lab and perfected by team and test riders on trails around the world, it delivers more grip and greater durability whilst maintaining consistently low rolling resistance. In figures, tread life has been increased by 30 per cent and grip by 15 per cent. This means better performance and more riding enjoyment, and less time spent changing tyres.
Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tyres have many advantages: you can ride with lower air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And with no inner tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tyres are better prepared for fitting with sealant than other ‘Tubeless Ready’ tyres. The bead of our TR tyres is completely covered with a layer of rubber, just like a genuine UST tubeless tyre. This ensures that tubeless fitting on all standard-sized rims is successful from the very first inflation and requires only a small amount of sealant.
