Named after the hunting spear of the Zulu people from Greg Minnaar’s homeland, South Africa, the Assegai cuts through any terrain. The Assegai is our best front tyre for bikes with 150 mm travel and above, and for all ground conditions.

Tubeless Ready
Tubeless tyres offer many advantages for cyclists. You can ride with lower air pressure, which improves traction; rolling resistance is lower than with an inner tube; and using a sealant instead of an inner tube significantly reduces the risk of punctures, as small holes are easily sealed. In MTB competitions, TR tyres are now almost exclusively used, and their popularity is also growing steadily amongst road cyclists.
EXO PROTECTION
This material, which is extremely resistant to cuts and abrasion, protects the sidewalls of various MTB and gravel tyres, as well as some Metro models. It is very densely woven, yet lightweight and highly flexible. As a result, the tyres’ performance remains consistently excellent.
MaxxTerra
As a single-compound tyre, the new MaxxTerra rubber compound is the logical evolution of the previous MaxxTerra triple-compound tyre. Developed in the laboratory and perfected by team and test riders on trails around the world, it delivers more grip and longer durability whilst maintaining consistently low rolling resistance. In figures, tread life has been increased by 30 per cent and grip by 15 per cent. This means better performance and more riding enjoyment, and less time spent changing tyres.
Wide Trail Casing
The Wide Trail (WT) construction optimises the tread pattern and tyre shape for today’s modern, wider rims. Traditional tyres are designed for narrow rims and take on an overly angular shape when fitted to wide rims, resulting in less-than-optimal performance.
WT tyres are optimised for an internal rim width of 35 mm, but perform excellently on all rims with an internal width between 30 and 40 mm.
