Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Technologies
The best power-to-weight ratioAll the energy you produce is transferred to your MTB by your pedals, so the role of the pedals is crucial. To meet this new challenge, LOOK has set itself the goal of finding solutions that enable the most efficient transfer of rider performance, which is why LOOK has chosen to assign a significant role to the relationship between weight and contact surfaces when defining the product.
In general, the larger the contact area, the more efficiently energy is transferred. On the other hand, a larger contact area also means a heavier pedal. So our engineers faced the challenge of identifying the zones that are useful for energy transfer and then removing the unused areas from the pedal design. This challenge has enabled LOOK to develop a pedal with the best weight-to-contact surface ratio on the market.
Lateral contact aid
The lateral contact aid guides the foot when locating the pedal and provides a contact point even if your shoe has not yet snapped into the pedal plate. This wide contact area prevents your foot from sliding on the pedal body and provides consistent and calming support.
Mechanism/Geometry
The mechanism works regardless of the external conditions (the forces in the mud differ considerably from those in the dry state) and more space makes it easier to remove various foreign bodies (mud, sand, etc.), giving the user a constant and stable feeling of being safely clicked in under all conditions.
Adjustable tension
An adjustable clamping screw allows you to adjust the on/off resistance to your personal level of competence.
