Mein erster Eindruck: Ich bin begeistert! Gestern bestellt und heute Morgen um 9 Uhr geliefert! Vielen Dank an Bike-Discount für den schnellen Service. Die Montage ist wie bei allen Garmin Produkten kinderleicht. Das Display macht einen Hammereindruck. Ich werde nach den ersten Testfahrten ein weiteres Feedback geben.
Bin mal wieder beeindruckt von der Schnelligkeit der Lieferung. Dienstag morgen bestellt, Mittwoch am frühen Nachmittag hielt ich das Paket in den Händen. Das alte 1030er zickte zunehmend rum. Ich denke, der Stecker ist defekt. Nach fünf, sechs Jahren kann das vielleicht passieren. Zum 1040 kann ich noch nichts sagen. Aber es wird das alte Gerät übertreffen, mit dem ich rundum zufrieden war.

Habe den Garmin jetzt eine Woche intensiv testen können. Das Gerät ist sehr wertig und eine sehr gute Qualität. Das Display ist gegenüber dem Vorgängermodel deutlich besser, der Akku ist weithin Spitze und die Routenberechnung ist schneller geworden. Kann das Gerät sehr empfehlen. Die Lieferung ging aus sehr zügig.
Tolles Display und noch viel tollere Akkulaufzeit, wenn die Stromsparmodi eingeschaltet sind. Was mich allerdings manchmal irritiert sind die immer wieder vorhandenen kleinen Softwaretücken. z.B. man stellt die Uhr auf europäische Uhrzeit und später ist sie doch wieder auf amerikanisch....wtf. Das ein so teures Gerät aber nur 100 Strecken speichern kann und dann motzt, es kann keine weiteren synchronisieren fand ich bis dato am merkwürdigsten (das waren gerade einmal 2,43MB...NICHT GB!).... Insgesamt ein tolles Ding. Preislich auch im Vergleich zum Sigma Rox 12 gerechtfertigt. Der neue Rox 12.1 hätte ca. 370 Euro kosten sollen, diesen gabs für ca. 100 Euro mehr. Und bei einer Akkulaufzeit von irgendwo 24h+ inkl. Navigation wollte ich den Rox 12.1 gar nicht erst testen. Beim Rox war damals effektiv nach ca. 10h Schluß. Auch das Display ist einfach im Vergleich zum Sigma Spitzenklasse....allein das Verhältnis Display zur Gesamtfläche (Screen Body Ratio) ist einfach so viel besser. Btw: der 1040 kostet auch das doppelte vom Edge Explore, ist aber auch hier mindestens das Doppelte wert. Der Edge Explore hat auch eine Verhältnismäßig schlechte Akkulaufzeit und das Abschalten/Aufwecken des Displays war immer irgendwie fehlerhaft. Hier Gott sei Dank nicht nötig
