Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Product information "Gravita Tensor - MTB Shoes"
Lightness and performance with a precise fit: the Gravita Tensor MTB Shoes by Fizik
The Gravita sole combines the grippiest Vibram® XS EVO rubber compound with a special zonal tread design. A shallow, tapered tread positioned in the midfoot provides direct contact and optimal mechanical connection with the pedal pins, while under the heel and toes a deeper, sharper tread provides better ground traction when going back uphill on foot. The clip-in version is stiffer than the flat pedal version and ensures better power transfer throughout the pedaling process, which increases pedaling efficiency.
For the Tensor, Fizik designed an ergonomic lacing system that hugs the foot and distributes power evenly to the pedal, because proper foot tension and fit is essential to effectively transfer every watt of power. A power strap over the instep provides a secure fit, stabilizes the arch and locks the heel in place while keeping laces in check.
The Tensor was designed with a conscious effort to reduce weight and remove excess material that would otherwise lead to the clunky look and baggy fit of a standard Gravity shoe. To avoid this, the Tensor has a slim silhouette and minimal weight through the use of innovative rip-stop outer materials and an inner lining that is far less bulky than traditional alternatives. An injection-molded TPU-armored toe box fends off rocks and boulders, while the raised inner ankle profile and a rugged laminated scuff guard protect along high-wear areas.

They are expensive, robust and good quality. However, they are very very narrow. My feet are regular width, it is very rare situation if shoe is too narrow for me. I have tried them at home, felt uncomfortably and painful. Felt relief after putting out and the stress in my feet for the few hours after home test.
