Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Black Chili CompoundThe rolling properties of the rubber compound of a tire are primarily determined by three interacting factors – stiction [grip], rolling resistance and mileage [longevity] . The dilemma: If you improve any of these factors it can have a detrimental effect on at least one of the others. A tire with maximum grip wears quicker and rolls more slowly. If you then make a tire roll faster and more durable, grip, in turn, is reduced. With our Black Chili compound, a tread compound which is always based on the latest knowledge of polymers and raw material research, we have supplied the cycling industry with an enduring solution. Depending on the application of a tire, we adjust the compound formulation for the specific discipline – for road or mountain biking, time trialling or downhill racing. How does that work? For Black Chili we refine special synthetic rubbers with proven natural rubber to high-performance tread mixtures. To these mixtures we then add soot particles, which in turn are optimised in shape and surface properties.
Vectran Breaker
Vectran is spun from the liquid crystal polymer Vectra. This creates a thermoplastic, multi-fiber yarn. By comparison, this semi-crystalline fabric is more cut-resistant than aramid and has five times the tensile strength of steel. A Vectran breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than comparable nylon breakers. Rolling resistance is not negatively affected.
LazerGrip
Lazer-Grip lets you become one with the road. The lasered micro-tread structure concentrates on the shoulder area of the tire and thus offers you increased cornering grip.
Active Comfort
The revolutionary approach to road cycling. Integrated into the tire construction, the Active Comfort Technology absorbs shocks and provides a superior driving experience.

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars
I’ve been riding the GP 5000 AS TR in 32 mm for a while now and they’ve surprised me in the best way. They feel fast and smooth on road, but what I appreciate most is how secure and stable they are, even when the road gets wet or broken. I’m overweight, so durability and support really matter — and this setup handles it well. Paired with Schwalbe Air Plus tubes, the tyres easily hold up under pressure and give me confidence on long rides, including light gravel or rough tarmac. It’s not an off-road tyre, but it’s more capable than it looks. A reliable all-year choice that just works

I have been struggling, and my mechanic hated me for installing Panaracer Gravelking SS+ 35mm on my Bontrager Aeolus Pro3V (25mm inner rim width). One day, he suggested getting the 5000 AS. Oh boy, this tire seated with one pump (Bontrager TLR Flash Charger) burst like a charm—I did not expect this. Haven’t ridden the tire yet, but I’ve had the 5000 on my racing bike for many years, so it should be good. More importantly, the tubeless setup was the main reason I got this tire. Really happy! I used a bit of Schwalbe Easy Fit to make sure it’s not a dry install, but it should work even with soapy water too or even with out it.

Top Tubeless Reifen ! Gewogen 435 g.

These tires are absolutely great! They preform exactly like the 5000 TL. Continental put back that extra layer of protection, that was missing on the 5000 STR. I find the STR's to be terrible, but they've made up for it with AS!
