During the basic design process, Bell's development team focused on three key performance principles: Fit. Breathability. Price. Fit and breathability are provided by Ventilated DH Air padding and the Ionic+™ antimicrobial comfort lining with silver metallized yarn for odor control inside the helmet. Bell equipped the helmet with 14 vents to optimize ventilation regardless of the riding situation. They also added a Fidlock® buckle that allows for easy opening with just one hand. In addition to ASTM certifications for downhill and BMX, the helmet features Mips® to reduce rotational forces during certain impacts.

Technologies
Fidlock® magnetic closure
The FIDLOCK® magnetic closure closes automatically and can be easily opened again by sliding it sideways with just two fingers. It can be operated quickly and effortlessly with just one hand, even when wearing gloves.
X-Static
The X-Static® pads are woven with silver threads. Quick-drying and antibacterial, they help prevent odor buildup. In addition, the thermal properties of the X-Static® pads give the rider a cooling sensation in hot weather and a warming sensation in cold weather.
MIPS
MIPS is a sliding plane system within the helmet designed to slow or prevent the amount of energy transferred toward or away from the head.
