Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Product information "Hardline Carbon Mips - MTB Helmet"
In the event of a fall, the protective zone developed by Smith on the lower edge of the helmet reduces the risk of it coming into contact with the collarbone. The cheek pads with quick-release system are also ready for emergencies. There is also an adjustable peak with breakaway function, which can be fixed in the uppermost position so that you can attach your POV camera underneath.
The right fit is essential for comfort and safety - that's why the Hardline is available in three sizes and with a selection of washable cheek pads that can be replaced. Whether you're out on the downhill World Cup course or just letting it rip in the bike park at the weekend: You'll love the incredibly lightweight, comfortable and reliable design of the Hardline Carbon.

Technologies
MIPS
The MIPS® Brain Protection System (BPS) is located inside the helmet, generally between the comfort padding and the EPS (a high-quality foam used to save energy). In certain impact situations, the MIPS® BPS can reduce the dangerous forces acting on the brain. MIPS® stands for Multi-Directional Impact Protection System.
KOROYD
Koroyd® offers superior shock absorption, design flexibility and ventilation compared to materials traditionally used in helmet construction. By using cylinders in the crumple zones that compress evenly upon impact, Koroyd® absorbs energy more efficiently and with less volume than any other protective material on the market. Unlike conventional protective materials, Koroyd® cylinders absorb and convert more kinetic energy, increase airflow and reduce overall weight. Not all helmets are the same.
AirEvac
Goggles fog up when standard helmets trap warm, moist air in the goggle chamber. Smith's AirEvac ventilation systems create maximum airflow and ensure that warm air that causes fogging flows out of the goggles. The warm air can escape from the top of the goggles and make its way through the helmet's AirEvac system.
GOGGLE INTEGRATION
A channel on the back of the helmet that aligns with the correct position of the goggle strap ensures a comfortable fit for Smith MTB goggles while riding. Most Smith MTB helmets have a visor that is adjustable to three positions and can be rotated upwards for easy goggle storage.
