Whether it is an upshift with a Top Normal rear derailleur or a downshift with low normal rear derailleur a quicker shift is always a better shift.
2-Way Release
The RAPIDFIRE Plus shifter release lever is commonly called a trigger because it is operated like a pistol, by pulling toward the grip. The release lever of RAPIDFIRE Plus shifters from ALIVIO to XTR can be operated in this same manner but adds the ability to activate a release shift by pushing with the thumb.

Das mehrfache runter- als auch hochschalten ist sehr schnell und praezise. Das typische hochschalten ist sehr sehr knackig mit einer meiner Meinung nach vorteilhaften grossen Flaeche am Hebel. Fuer Fahrer, welche gerne ein simples schalten bevorzugen und aber das mehrfache hochschalten benutzen moechten: da muss man schon mit dem Daumen ueber dem unteren Hebel zum runterschalten "tief" eindruecken. Ergonomisch koennte es fuer einige ein Problem sein also wenns geht davor ausprobieren.

Habe von SLX auf diesen XT Hebel umgebaut: SLX war zwar etwas leichtgängiger in der Bedienung, der XT Hebel schaltet dafür aber noch präziser als der SLX. Der kleine Trigger am XT ist sehr(!) hakelig und ich kann nur hoffen, dass es nach hundertfachen Schaltvorgängen etwas leichtgängiger wird.

Hatte vorher den SLX Schalter verbaut, wollte aber unbedingt und schon immer das Feature mit dem "2fach runter schalten" (double release) haben. Das ist hierbei aber nur bei der Auslösung mittels Daumen möglich. Dafür ist der Zeigefingertrigger sehr fest und hakelig und auch irgendwie deplaziert. Ich komme da nur mit dem Rand des Fingers ran, wenn ich den Finger schon sehr bewußt verbiege... Insgesamt ist das Schalten mit der 2fach runter und 4fach rauf schon echt genial und ich möchte es nicht mehr missen (5*). Nur sollte man sich bewußt sein, dass die SLX smoother mit dem Zeigefingertrigger funktioniert und bei der XT aus zuvor genannten Gründen eigentlich nicht anwendbar ist (eher so 2-3 Sterne)... Schaltet aber knackiger/präziser/verbindlicher als das SLX. Zur Haltbarkeit kann ich noch nichts sagen, da ja einige Bewertungen aus dem Netz nicht so positiv ausfallen (gebrochene Federn). Ich gebe großzügig (weil bereits am nächsten Tag geliefert wurde) noch knapp 4*. Kann natürlich nicht ausschließen, dass ich ein Montagsmodell erwischt habe...
