The Shimano XT FC-M8200 1 x 12-speed crankset, with a 176 mm Q-factor and 55 mm chainline, offers the perfect balance between stiffness and weight. HOLLOWTECH II forging technology and a stronger steel axle ensure that this crankset can withstand even the toughest impacts, whilst optimising stiffness and weight. The FC-M8200 is available in lengths from 160–175 mm and with all sizes of the reinforced direct-mount SM-CRM86 chainring, so every enduro rider can find the right setup here.

Shimano XT CS-M8200 12-speed cassette 10-51

The Shimano CS-M8200 with Hyperglide+ for faster shifting is the perfect cassette for the new XT 12-speed groupset. The redesigned cassette and chain of the HYPERGLIDE+ drivetrain represent the next generation of MTB touring – offering improved speed, shifting efficiency and smooth operation on any terrain.

The starting point for this new development in the drivetrain was the aim of achieving the smallest possible shift increments, so that changes in cadence during shifting remain as minimal as possible, maintaining rhythm and propulsion and, ultimately, keeping speed high. This ultimately resulted in the large 51-tooth sprocket, which maintains a consistent difference of 6 teeth per gear, particularly in the lower gears (10-12-14-16-18-21-24-28-33-39-45-51). In addition, however, the XT also comes with a 10-45T 12-speed cassette (10-12-14-16-18-21-24-28-32-36-40-45), which allows for even finer or closer spacing between the gears on faster or less steep race courses. This makes the 10–45 cassette ideal for XC racers, for whom close gear spacing is crucial and every gram counts. The 10–51 cassette, on the other hand, is the ideal choice for trail riders, enabling them to tackle even the steepest climbs. For the new 12-speed cassettes, SHIMANO has redesigned the freehub body on the XT M8100, utilising the new MICRO SPLINE technology.

DYNAMIC CHAIN ENGAGEMENT+
Special tooth profile SHIMANO’s DYNAMIC CHAIN ENGAGEMENT+ is a special tooth profile designed for single chainrings used in XC, Enduro and Trail riding. It improves chain retention and guidance, making pedalling easier even on rough terrain. Improved chain guidance in every gear reduces abrasion and wear.

HOLLOWTECH II
The perfect balance between stiffness, stability, weight and rotational efficiency. The HOLLOWTECH II technology was designed to produce an optimised crankset that minimises the effort required by the rider to drive the bike. The crankset’s high stiffness ensures efficient power transfer whilst pedalling, whilst its low weight reduces the rider’s effort, particularly over longer distances. The crankset was developed with a view to achieving an optimal balance between stiffness and low weight. HOLLOWTECH technology enables extremely lightweight, hollow crank arms, which are manufactured using SHIMANO’s exclusive forging technology to achieve maximum stiffness. Furthermore, on the HOLLOWTECH II crankset, the right-hand crank is firmly connected to the bottom bracket spindle, achieving an optimal balance between maximum stiffness and minimum weight. The external bottom bracket offers better weight distribution and greater stability, ensuring more efficient power transfer. During the development of the HOLLOWTECH II crankset, emphasis was placed on achieving an optimal balance between stiffness and rotational efficiency, as well as low weight and an attractive appearance. High-quality precision seals The HOLLOWTECH II crankset also features high-quality precision seals in the bearing area to extend its service life and maintain its excellent rotational efficiency over the long term.

Instant Release
The Instant Release shifting mechanism replaces the two-stage click-and-release process. With Instant Release, the cable is released immediately upon actuating the lever, thereby achieving the fastest possible gear change. Whether you’re shifting up with a Top-Normal derailleur or shifting down with a Low-Normal derailleur – a faster shift is always a better shift.

2-Way Release
The release lever on a RAPIDFIRE Plus shifter is pulled towards the grip, much like the trigger of a pistol. The release lever on the new RAPIDFIRE Plus shifters, from ALIVIO to XTR, can be operated in the same way. However, it can also be used to shift gears simply by pressing with the thumb.

Rapidfire Plus
RAPIDFIRE Plus has been used by mountain bikers since 1985. RAPIDFIRE Plus continues to be used successfully by a wide variety of riders, ranging from cross-country competitors to freeriders. RAPIDFIRE Plus is ideal for fast gear changes. The rider can shift down by up to three gears with a single lever movement. All RAPIDFIRE Plus shift levers, from DEORE to XTR, are equipped with 2-WAY-RELEASE (release in two directions). This means that the shift cable is released by pulling with the index finger or pressing with the thumb.

Rapidfire Plus Mono
The RAPIDFIRE PLUS MONO lever is a user-friendly and simple front derailleur lever with a lightweight and compact design. It allows for comfortable upshifting and downshifting.

Thanks to the wider adjustment range, the I-SPEC EV levers can be set to the optimal position for a wide variety of riding styles (ENDURO, XC, etc.), rider preferences and rider anatomy (hand and arm position). With I-SPEC EV, the brake clamps are positioned further inwards. This creates an additional contact point between the handlebars and the brake lever, which increases the lever’s stiffness. This extra support significantly improves control over the bike and braking performance. At the same time, there is still space between the clamp and the support point for other handlebar-mounted accessories.

MICRO SPLINE
MICRO SPLINE MICRO SPLINE reduces weight with a lightweight FREEHUB cassette hub, whereby the largest chainring has 10 teeth. Use in combination with a MICRO SPLINE cassette sprocket and FREEHUB.
