The new DEORE XT is available with either a two-piston brake for cross-country riding or a four-piston brake for trail/enduro. The new design of the brake lever, which is mounted at an angle and thus supported at two points on the handlebars – significantly increasing stiffness – ensures more direct feedback and greater braking performance, further enhanced by SERVO WAVE technology. The brake systems are thus characterised by faster response, higher performance and a shorter dead travel.
