The comfortable and ergonomically shaped SHIMANO TIAGRA SL-4700 shift lever enables intuitive and responsive shifting on road bikes with straight handlebars. The RAPIDFIRE Plus shift lever impresses with its smooth-running multiple shifting function and responds immediately when operated with the index finger. The SHIMANO OPTICAL GEAR DISPLAY shows the gear position while riding (without original packaging).
The release lever of a RAPIDFIRE Plus shifter is pulled towards the grip like the trigger of a gun. The release lever of the new RAPIDFIRE Plus shift levers from ALIVIO to XTR can be operated in the same way. However, it can also be used to shift gears using thumb pressure.
Rapidfire Plus
RAPIDFIRE Plus has been used by mountain bikers since 1985. RAPIDFIRE Plus continues to be used successfully by a wide variety of rider groups, from cross-country competition riders to freeriders. RAPIDFIRE Plus is suitable for fast shifting. The rider can downshift by up to three gears with a single shift. All RAPIDFIRE Plus shift levers, from DEORE to XTR, are equipped with 2-WAY-RELEASE (release in two directions). This means that the shift cable is released by pulling with the index finger or pressing with the thumb.
Visual gear indicator
The visual gear indicator shows the rider which gear is engaged. The rider can see how many upward and downward gear steps are still available and can therefore shift gears more consciously
