Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Product information "SLX BR-M7100 Disc Brake rear J-Kit"
Robust 2-piston disc brake for XC and marathon racers: Shimano SLX BR-M7100
Expanding SHIMANO’s legendary mountain bike braking technology to more riders, SLX increases braking performance and includes both 2-piston and 4-piston calipers to deliver the right amount of power for a variety of terrain and riding styles. The SLX M7100 brake levers are designed after XTR M9100 and DEORE XT M8100 with more inboard clamp position and added bracing for increased efficiency and control. The new design minimizes impact on cockpit real estate, creating space between the clamp and support point for mounting other handlebar accessories. After setting the benchmark in mountain bike components with SHIMANO XTR M9100 and new DEORE XT M8100, Shimano rounds out its now entirely 12-speed performance mountain bike component lines with new SLX M7100. SLX M7100 cascades technology from new XTR M9100 and DEORE XT M8100 - namely Shimano’s signature premium shifting and braking performance - while maintaining the SLX hallmark of value and durability.
