Technologies
SPD-SLR: The combination of pedal, cleat and shoe
SHIMANO’s new SPD-SLR system combines the shoe, cleat and pedal into a harmonised unit for direct power transfer and greater stability. The reduced height of 2.3 mm brings the foot closer to the pedal axle. A wider engagement zone and a reduced clip-in angle of 10.5° make clipping in easier. The new cleats are up to 22 per cent lighter than comparable SPD-SL models. Their thinner rear section also improves walking comfort. Four variants offer different levels of freedom of movement and customisation options. The SPD-SLR cleats are exclusively compatible with SPD-SLR pedals. The shoes themselves are also compatible with SPD-SL cleats.

BOA System
The Boa® System offers stepless adjustment for the perfect fit. Quick one-handed adjustment, secure tightening and rapid release.
SHIMANO DYNALAST
The forefoot flex zone of a cycling shoe plays a key role in supporting pedalling efficiency. If it is too high, it can cause increased tension in the plantar, calf and hamstring muscles. If it is too low, it results in a bent, inefficient pedalling motion. Extensive research by Shimano’s R&D experts has led to a superior shoe last design with an optimised toe spring, which promotes a smoother, more energy-efficient upward movement. Shimano Dynalast was developed based on feedback from professional cyclists and helps to reduce energy loss on long rides. This leaves you with more power for the final sprint across the finish line. Minimise energy loss through greater pedalling efficiency: Between crank angles of 200° and 360°, a loss of power or energy occurs during the backward phase of a pedal stroke. Shoes featuring Shimano Dynalast help minimise this energy loss by supporting a smoother, more efficient pedalling motion. If you want to reduce fatigue, get the most out of your legs or simply push yourself a little further, you should ride with Shimano Dynalast.
