Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

- Rather the next frame in size when riding tour-orientated
- Deduct approx. 5 cm (or 2 inches respectively) of the theoretical size when using spring-mounted seat posts.

Product information "GRX ST-RX600+BR-RX410 2x11-speed Disc Brake Set"
A key requirement for gravel riders is a reliable braking system with sufficient power reserves, the new Shimano GRX 2 x 11-speed STI levers ST-RX600 with BR-RX410 flat-mount brake callipers for hydraulic disc brakes are characterised by outstanding deceleration performance to maintain control on steep, demanding or even surprising descents.
For your riding freedom: the GRX 2x11-speed STI unit ST-RX600 + BR-RX410 disc brake set from Shimano
All STI units are characterised by an 18 mm higher brake lever pivot, a curved lever shape and non-slip textures on the contact surfaces, which ensure optimum grip even in the roughest terrain. The STI line-up of the GRX family is complemented by the 1x11-speed RX800 and RX600 STIs for links without shifting or DSP functionality, including the 1x11 Di2 version (ST-RX815), whose three switches (two on the side and one on the top of the lever) can be used to operate third-party devices such as compatible lights or computers.
The GRX brake callipers are reminiscent in design of the SHIMANO flat-mount models from the road bike sector and deliver equally high braking performance. They also have established features such as one-way bleeding and the ICE-TECHNOLOGIES heat management system with brake pads and brake discs with cooling fins for maximum fade resistance.
The fact that SHIMANO can present the GRX as the first gravel-specific component family that is designed for both fast progress and safe bike handling on loose surfaces is the result of an intensive and extensive research, testing and development process that incorporated information and feedback from countless riders who ride on trails, forest roads, gravel tracks and tarmac all over the world.
