The SCOTT Plasma RC really flexes its ‘aero muscles’. This triathlon-specific bike is fitted with a fully integrated hydration system, storage boxes and internal cable routing. It’s also been designed to be more versatile, so that everyone can find their most efficient cockpit position on the bike. Rear wheel adjustability
The closer the tyre is to the seat tube, the more aerodynamic it is. Unlike the front wheel, the rear wheel is always aligned with the seat tube. To give every rider – regardless of wheel or tyre size – the chance to achieve the most aerodynamic position, the wheel can be mounted in 6 different positions.
Down tube positioning
The aerodynamically optimal positioning of the down tube would be directly behind the front tyre, but even the slightest movement of the front wheel would create significant air turbulence and significantly increase drag. Extensive testing has shown that the second-best positioning for speed can be achieved by maintaining a considerable distance between the front tyre and the down tube, making this the fastest solution under real-world conditions.
Integrated storage
The Plasma 5 was already one step ahead of its competitors when it came to integrated storage space. The new Plasma 6 goes one step further. All spare parts and provisions can be stowed within the frame structure. The new hydration system also allows the rider to remain in the aero position whilst drinking or eating, and makes it easier to refill whilst riding.
The Foil RC’s generous head tube not only allows for fully integrated cable routing for both mechanical and electronic gear systems, but also serves primarily as a fairing for the bike. It splits the oncoming air and reduces drag as the rider moves forward.
