SCOTT’s unique F01 technology ensures that every tube and every joint is designed for optimum aerodynamics. Backed by computer simulations and wind tunnel tests, SCOTT can guarantee that this bike is the fastest road bike SCOTT has ever developed.
Syncros Duncan SL AERO CFT
One of the bike’s most innovative features is the patented new Syncros Duncan SL Aero CFT. This innovative seatpost not only ensures a more comfortable ride on rougher surfaces, but also ensures that you can apply maximum power to the pedals on light gravel or cobbled paths, as you won’t be lifted out of the saddle. The two-part design, with the front load-bearing section made of carbon fibre, flexes when the road gets bumpy, ensuring you stay in the saddle.
The Syncros Campbell 20 Aero iL rear light is available separately. It is USB-rechargeable and plugs directly into the Duncan SL Aero CFT seatpost, ensuring the aerodynamic profile is maintained. The COB LED light has three operating modes: a continuous mode, a daytime mode and a night-time mode. It offers a luminosity of 20 lm for a safe ride in all conditions.
Lower seat stays
All Foil RC models feature lower seat stays, which not only provide additional comfort for the rider but also – crucially for an aero bike – reduce drag. They are angled at 10 degrees, channelling the airflow past the rotating spokes. In aerodynamic tests, Scott found that this detail significantly improves aerodynamics as the bike moves forward. The lower seat stays also conceal the disc brake calipers, which not only further reduces drag but also creates a clean design line.
Oversized head tube
The Foil RC’s generous head tube not only allows for fully integrated cable routing for both mechanical and electronic gear systems, but also serves primarily as a fairing for the bike. It splits the oncoming airflow and reduces drag as the rider moves forwards.
Lightweight design
After testing over 300 designs, SCOTT’s developers succeeded in developing an improved carbon lay-up, reduce the number of carbon parts and joints used by 30 per cent compared to the previous Foil, and save weight with incredible attention to detail – such as on the seat stays and seat clamp – without compromising stiffness.
