Technologies
EVO-LAP technology
When manufacturing a Scott frame, the right choice of materials is crucial - 80% of the work is done. But the remaining 20% requires the greatest precision. That's why Scott uses the highest quality carbon fibers on the market and combines them with specific processes such as FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software to optimally map the carbon layer structure.
With FEA, Scott can simulate various forces on a virtual frame model and adapt the design accordingly. This software enables the creation of complete virtual prototypes that take into account all physical phenomena from the real environment.
Thanks to EvoLap technology, Scott models the frame to optimize the surface area. Tube shapes are simulated using differently oriented carbon layers, the load distribution in different areas is tested and the results of different configurations are analyzed.
The extensive computer modelling has enabled Scott to optimize the carbon layers in all parts of the frame. Assembling the first prototypes resulted in a super light and compact frame, without sacrificing stiffness, comfort or impact resistance. The entire range benefits from EvoLap technology.
Mahle X20 drive unit
The Mahle X20 motor is silent and completely resistance-free. The technology behind it uses a special assistance system for road bikes, which not only ensures a natural riding experience when the rider exceeds 25 km/h and the assistance is switched off, but also when it is switched on again. The transition is smooth, it doesn't jerk and there is no unnatural boost in between - it's subtle and light. What's more, thanks to the torque and cadence sensor in the bottom bracket, it also learns from your riding style and adapts its responses and support to you. The Mahle X20 system is one of the lightest on the market with a total weight of 3.2 kg and a maximum torque of 55 Nm.
Mahle IX250
The Addict eRIDE has a 236 Wh battery that is inconspicuously placed in the down tube. The battery has intelligent technology with the function that the battery can be charged to 80% of its full capacity in less than two hours. The battery gives the bike a sleek look and is not too bulky, keeping it light and closer to an acoustic bike.
Mahle HMI control
The Mahle HMI controller is discreetly built into the top tube. The remote control is minimalist and simple, but provides all the data you need while riding. With just one glance, you get an overview of the battery status, support mode, warnings and notifications. With the controller, you can easily switch the drive unit on and off and switch between support modes.
My Smartbike app
The Mahle My SmartBike app keeps you up to date with everything concerning your bike. You can easily track your ride, perform system updates within minutes and view the status of your bike. Here you can also adjust the motor and enter how you like the support and pedal response. It can be easily integrated with recorded Strava activities, which can be viewed in the app.
Support modes
The X20 system from Mahle offers four riding modes: ECO, Mid-Power, Turbo and Smart-Assist. Smart-Assist mode responds to the rider and adjusts the assistance according to weight, power and the way the terrain changes during the ride. With Smart Assist mode, the driver does not have to adjust the driving mode, but the system adapts the modes to the terrain.
Mahle Range Extender
The Addict RC eRIDE is compatible with a range extender, which provides an additional 171 Wh and a total output of 407 Wh. The range extender comes in the design of a simple water bottle. Connecting it to the system is as simple as sliding a bottle into the water bottle cage and the system automatically adjusts to the two power sources.
Please note that this bike must be registered in the Mahle "My SmartBike" app to unleash its full potential.

The crown jewel of the new X20 system that drove the whole industry forward. Lightweiht at only 1399 grams. It features the AMC system -Automatic Motor Connection, patent pending- which eliminates the need for motor cables and allows natural positioning of the wheel by attaching it via a standard 12 mm thru axle.

The X20 drive unit with a torque of 55 Nm, compatible with the EU market (25 km/h) and the US market (20 km/h), has been developed and assembled in Europe to achieve maximum performance levels, completely eliminating air resistance when exceeding the maximum assisted speed without affecting the rider.

Geometry
Just incredible. The best ebike in market very strong frame the motor is very powerfull and the internal battery has a very long range even in the maximum support level. Buy it without a thought an enjoy whatever ride you want . At this price there is no competitor
After around 700 km, I can say this is one of the best e-road bike designs on the market. Di2 electronic shifting, HMX carbon (high-end level), 11.6 kg (absurdly light for an e-bike), looks like a normal road bike and feels like one too, just with extra boost on climbs. The assistance feels very natural.
È passato quasi un anno da quando ho acquistato la bici devo dire che sono soddisfatto, è una bella bici , rispetto ad una bici tradizionale è in salita che fa' la differenza con il supporto del motore si fanno dei buoni dislivelli.Bene anche il servizio di imballaggio, la bici viene spedita intiera non c'è nulla da assemblare,devi solo installare i pedali che vanno acquistati separatamente.
Ein großes Kompliment an Bike-Discount: Alles lief perfekt ab! Das geniale E-Bike kam vollständig (!) aufgebaut bei mir an und ich musste es nur noch aufladen und losfahren (Pedale anbringen versteht sich von selbst). Alles Updates wurden bereits von Bike-Discount durchgeführt (Mahle + Shimano). Das Rad macht jede Menge Spass und die Unterstützung ist sehr präsent, wenn der Fahrer es wünscht. Ich kann dieses wunderschöne Rad jedem empfehlen und insbesondere kann ich Bike-Discount empfehlen.
5 Sterne für den Versand - hat top funktioniert. Das Rad kam vollständig montiert in einer Box an, Pedale angeschraubt, Flaschenhalter montiert und los geht’s. Besser geht es nicht. Zum Rad, für den Preis unschlagbar. Es wiegt ein wenig mehr als ein normales Rennrad, aber hier im Bergland macht die Unterstützung viel Spass. Komponenten sind Top, und die Schaltung funktioniert perfekt. Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.
I recently received this bike, and so far, I have ridden about 200 km. So far, I like everything very much. The assist helps to climb mountains and fight headwinds. The rides have become much more pleasant and longer. I was pleasantly surprised by how well the carbon frame and fork absorb road irregularities. Of course, it is still stiff; it is a road bike after all, but riding it is quite comfortable in my opinion. The frame geometry is also quite comfortable and will suit amateurs like me. Additionally, BD offers the best prices in Europe, and possibly the world. Thanks, guys! P.S. In the picture, the color is dark brown, but in reality, it is closer to black. Perhaps this is only with my bike. But it suits me.
I have to compliment Bike-Discount staff for an excellent job. Delivered pre-time, in perfect condition, everything (components, color, condition...) as declared on web, Scott Addict eRIDE RC 20 works very much OK. And not to forgt to mention the price, which is by far lower than any other trader/shop. Definitely will check some of the internals (assembly, greasing....) after 1.000 km at local authorized service guys.
Nachtrag. Bin jetzt ein paar Touren gefahren und immer noch begeistert. Habe breitere Reifen verbaut... Serie sind 30mm SCHWALBE Pro one gewesen, die tatsächlich 31mm breit sind, auf der Felge. Jetzt habe ich vorne einen 34er ( gemessen 33 mm) und hinten einen 38er ( gemessen 37 mm) Schwalbe Pro one verbaut. Dadurch ist das E-Bike komfortabel unterwegs... bei dem 38er ist aber Schluss mit der Reifenfreiheit im Rahmen. An der Gabel müsste der auch gerade noch passen.
Die Unterstützung bei dem Modell habe ich mir schwächer vorgestellt. Bin positiv überrascht wie das Rad einen drückt. Gerade beim anfahren oder steilen Passagen optimal, auch wenn ich über 25 komme merkt man zwar den Unterschied zum Bio-Bike aber nicht störend. Ich fahre weiterhin meine 30/31. Jetzt fahre ich auch mal neue Wege die mir vorher nicht möglich waren. Top, danke.
