Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Product information "Ice Spiker Pro Performance 361 Spikes 26x2.10" RaceGuard Wired"
Things you should know about spiked tires
- Can you ride with spikes also on normal roads? No problem at all. If, however, snow is rather seldom and the roads are mainly free, the running noises will soon become irritating.
- And you don’t slip away? No. The spikes dig themselves very well into normal asphalt roads. Even fast curves are unproblematic.
- Are spikes forbidden? On bicycle tires spikes are no problem. In some countries, spikes are forbidden only for automotive vehicles, as they damage the roads. However, speed e-bikes are considered as automotive vehicles.
- Is it necessary to run in tires? To ensure the durable hold of the spikes, the tires should be run in approx. 40 km on asphalt roads. Avoid forceful acceleration and braking during this period of time.
- How long is the service life of spikes? All Schwalbe spikes have a core made of extremely wear resistant carbide (tungsten carbide). With these spikes you can ride a few thousand kilometers. The fact that the corners are rounded by grinding and the spikes are pressed deeper into the material is normal.
- Individual spikes got lost. Can they be replaced? Yes, replacement spike kits incl. tools can be ordered from Schwalbe.
- When do tires reach their limits? In deep snow even tires with spikes are no longer a help
- In my region, snow is seldom. How can I make good use of tires with spikes? The best option is to fit the tires on a second bicycle. In the morning you decide which bicycle is suitable for the respective weather. On icy roads it is a great feeling to have full control on tires with spikes, even when the cars drive very slowly.

The best spike tyres on the planet! Very durable and grip is excellent in ice and snow. I've been cycling year round in Finland for the last 10 years and after I found these, nothing else will do for me.

Can seriously recommend these tyres. Studs can be replaced. Running there already third year in row during winter. Very good grip on icy road and on compressed snow. Good grip on up to 15cm of snow. Acceptable grip on that mashed snow that consists of fresh snow and salt on city roads. On the melting compressed snow covered with water from rain - beware for front tyre slip. It is very dangerous weather then but these tyres will help A LOT to reach home if you dont push bike to the limits. Have had ZERO punctures so far with them even cycling on asphalt.

Great tyres! Surely the best spike tyres on the market. Width and FL-ready preferences are personal opinions. Great price!
