The Santa Cruz Vala 1 C MX 90 is a high-quality, full-power e-MTB with a lightweight full-carbon frame and modern four-bar suspension, designed for challenging trails and maximum control. The Bosch Performance Line CX Gen.5 motor, with 120 Nm of torque, and the Bosch PowerTube 600 Wh battery deliver powerful assistance and sufficient range for long rides. The Fox Racing 38 Float Performance Grip suspension fork with 160 mm of travel and the Fox Racing Float X Performance rear shock with 205 x 60 mm ensure confident handling. Lifetime frame warranty
Santa Cruz Bicycles will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace any frame manufactured by Santa Cruz Bicycles that is found to have a defect in materials or workmanship. The warranty is valid for the lifetime of the frame and is available exclusively to the original owner. Notwithstanding the above, frames purchased before 1 May 2015 are covered by the previously existing warranty for five years from the original date of purchase. In the event that the warranty does not apply, Santa Cruz Bicycles will offer the original owner replacement parts at a reduced price for the warranty period described above.*
Technology
Independently adjustable geometry and progression
The Geo-FlipChip raises or lowers the bottom bracket by 4 mm and adjusts the head angle by 0.3 degrees. The Progression-FlipChip changes the progression from 26–29%
Bosch Flow App
Use the BoschFlowApp to connect your cycling experience. You can adjust the assistance levels, load routes, track rides and view your range. With the Range Control Tool, you can select the right assistance levels to ensure you reach your destination safely.
Low centre of gravity
The integrated 600Wh battery enables a lightweight design and delivers agility and riding enjoyment. The optional 250Wh PowerMore Range Extender gives you the flexibility to increase your range when needed.
Robust hardware
As is typical of Santa Cruz, the axles and derailleur levers are extremely robust, reliable and easy to maintain. Santa Cruz fits high-quality sealed Enduro MAX bearings, which all first owners receive free of charge as replacements for the lifetime of the bike.
Tool Mount
The discreet mount beneath the top tube allows for neat storage of tools, inner tubes or an AirTag on the bike
Frame stiffness
A. A solid, one-piece rocker arm provides stiffness and protects the shock from lateral loads. This is just one of many details that set the Santa Cruz Vala apart from other four-bar link bikes.
B. The bridge between the seat stays provides additional stiffness, ensuring the suspension runs smoothly and doesn’t twist.
Pivot points
The main pivot points run on the legendary tapered-clamped axles pioneered by Santa Cruz and now copied by many bike brands. The axles cannot come loose on their own, yet are easy to remove for maintenance.
BearingsFour generously sized bearings in the chainstay pivot points and an axle that holds everything securely together (no explosions on the workshop floor). No bearing puller is required to remove the bearings for servicing. Santa Cruz uses larger, more robust bearings than most other brands. Larger ball bearings are less prone to contamination. This means the bike rides better and lasts longer. And, as with all bike models, Santa Cruz offers a lifetime supply of free rear suspension bearings for the original owner.
Hardware
A. The FlipChips for adjusting the geometry cannot fall out. To adjust them, simply loosen them, flip them over and tighten them again. It’s so quick and easy that you can do it by the side of the road with just an Allen key.
B. The threads at the pivot points on the chainstay and seatstay, as well as the shock mount, are all replaceable. So if you cause damage because you’re better at riding than at tinkering, it’s just a minor, fixable problem, as the valuable frame remains intact.
C. All bolts are designed for a 5mm Allen key, so you can carry out a quick bolt check at any time. No special tools are required whatsoever, and working on the bike is so straightforward that even the marketing team can manage it (provided we hide the sharp tools from them).
