Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Product information "SLIDE TRAIL AL 7.0"
Highlights of the SLIDE TRAIL AL 7.0
Technically, the aluminum trail bike impresses with a great chassis, consisting of a RockShox Lyrik Select suspension fork with 150 mm travel and a RockShox Deluxe Select+ shock with 140 mm travel. The suspension makes your trail heart beat faster and offers sensitive response and yet enough reserves in case things get rough. The Race Face Chester series handlebars and stem form the cockpit of the SLIDE, are ergonomically shaped and give you an immediate feeling of security. This is also ensured by the Magura MT Thirty Custom brakes with their 4-piston caliper at the front, which bring you reliably and powerfully to a stop when the trail chase gets too wild. A sensibly tuned 12-speed drivetrain from Shimano, consisting of parts from the DEORE and SLX groupset, transmits the power to Schwalbe's legendary Nobby Nic tires in Addix Speedgrip rubber compound with Super Ground carcass, which are mounted on solid SUNringlé Düroc 35 wheels. For the contact points, we rely on the Thrice grip and the legendary Bel Air V3 saddle from SDG. The great overall package is rounded off by a dropper seatpost for full freedom of movement on your rides. SLIDE TRAIL AL 7.0 - pure trail fun at a low price!
The SLIDE TRAIL AL Family

Overall: A great ride for an incredible price, in a deal that is hard to beat. Would recommend. The frame: Well-made frame, to my view, this dark-forest-green of the AL 7.0 is the best color of the series. It is hydroformed according to an on-frame label (this is not stated in the online description at the time of purchase). Only critical comment would be the cable-guide plastic insert on the left side of the frame (where the shifter and rear brake cables go through), it has a hard-time staying properly seated. Welds seem consistent and without visual defects. The geometry for me strikes the perfect balance between trail and slightly more aggressive riding. The ride: I come from a Hardtail (Canyon Stoic 3) and the ride feels really good, much smoother, comfortable and confidence inspiring for rougher terrain. It does not filter/smooth out absolutely everything, which for me is a plus to maintain a bit of "poppyness". The shock manages very well to maintain traction in the rear wheel. In the few low-slope climbs I have around there was no noticeable pedal-bob. The components: I doubt you will find better set of components at this price range in a new bike. Both the fork (Lyrik select) and the shock (Deluxe select+) can provide a good balance (after spending some time tuning them). Reliable Shimano drivetrain with a clutch derailleur and a chain guide. Plenty of power in the Magura brakes, and the contact points are all well-chosen and do not feel the need to change any. The shipping: The bike came fully assembled in a really..really big box. There were some hiccups with DHL handling, since one of the brake levers arrived broken (Magura brakes have carbon-reinforced plastic lever base). On the positive side, bike-discount support was very quick on resolving the issue and sending a replacement immediately. The cost was a few days delay before hitting the trails, but of course no additional charges.
