Product information "Forekaster 29" WT TR EXO Dual 60 Folding Tire"

The original Forekaster was designed by Maxxis as a wet weather option for XC, while the new version is aimed squarely at modern short travel (100mm-130mm) trail bikes – aka the “downcountry” segment.

Intended to be a “Goldilocks” tire, the new Forekaster rolls fast but also provides solid cornering and braking traction in a broad range of trail conditions.

The new Forekaster connects and closes the gap between the fast rolling XC tires (Aspen, RekonRace, Ikon and Rekon) and the downhill-heavy profiles (Dissector, Minion DHF, DHR2 and Assegai) in the MAXXIS mountain bike portfolio. Maxxis envisions the new Forekaster as the perfect companion for long rides in a variety of terrains.

When the Rekon is not enough, but a Minion is too much, take the new Forekaster!

Technologies

Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tire; and less chance of flatting because there is no tube. Liquid sealants should only be used in the following types of tires: tubeless road, tubular, and tubeless ready.

EXO Protection
EXO is a cut- and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of many Maxxis mountain bike and gravel tires. This densely woven fabric is lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tire remains unaffected. Choose EXO Protection for enhanced durability for gravel, XC, and light-duty trail riding.

Wide Trail Casing
Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes tread layout and tyre shape on today's wider rims. Traditional tires are designed for narrow rims and are too angular on wide rims for optimal performance.
WT tyres are optimised for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but function perfectly on all rims with an inner dimension between 30 and 40 mm.

Ss S.

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Great tyre. Almost perfect balance between a fast tyre for XC and a DHRII for trail use. Rolls fast, is stable in cornering and more reliably than others tried (like XR4), both in front and rear. Only trouble is that is maybe too heavy (size it's more like a 2.35 than 2.4, but that was fine for me).

Great D.

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Great front tire for xc trails with a Rekon on the rear. Good coornering and good rolling. Very secure on descends and fast cornering. Is a hard tire so the tire pressure cannot be to high, for me at the front 1.8 bar.
