Polartec® Alpha® is an innovative insulation that provides warmth without overheating and has been specially developed for intensive winter activities such as cross-country skiing, ski touring or trail running. Especially in these sports, athletes are exposed to strong temperature fluctuations without the possibility of quickly shedding layers. Polartec® Alpha® combines warmth, packability and extreme breathability like no other insulation and is therefore also ideal for cyclists, especially in combination with a lightweight windbreaker. To further enhance the performance of the Ksyrium Alpha® jackets and vests, Mavic has combined Polartec® Alpha® insulation with its own windproof, extremely lightweight, stretchy and water-repellent fabric. The result is a jacket that offers protection, comfort and freedom of movement in equal measure.
The Ksyrium Alpha® jacket can be used from fall to spring, can be stowed away in a pocket to save space in milder temperatures and serves as an additional insulating layer under a winter jacket on cold winter days.
