Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Product information "MT5 Disc Brake Set + Storm HC 203/180"
Proven 4-piston technology from motorcycle racing, adapted for bike use promises maximum braking power. Braking power combined with ergonomics results in a performance package with which you can confidently tackle any trail, any difficult terrain with infinite serenity. Of course, also perfectly suited for S-pedelecs. The aluminum brake levers are ergonomic to the hand and let the braking power easily and precisely dosed even during long braking processes. The use of Carbotecture® technology in the brake lever housing helps the MT5 to low weight with top braking performance.
Features - Magura MT5 | 2-finger brake lever | STORM HC 203mm / 180mm
- Radial design - The radial encoder design reduces friction and allows small / large transmission ratios. This not only reduces transmission losses - the brake becomes more sensitive and controllable
- The 4-piston brake caliper forged in one piece has a particularly high rigidity
- Ergonomic 2-finger aluminum brake lever
- Particularly carefree - Due to an increased piston retraction, the MT5 compared to the MT7 is particularly carefree in continuous use and quickly mounted without grinding
- MT5 with 2-finger HC brake levers and STORM HC 6-hole brake discs 203 mm / 180 mm (2 mm brake disc thickness)

Technology
What is Carbotecture?MAGURA stands in the sensitive motorcycle industry and in the bicycle industry for the highest quality, reliability and sophisticated components through our own production in Germany. With the development of special materials and processes such as Carbotecture® and Carbolay®, we have made designs and constructions possible that no other manufacturer can realize in this way. At our production and assembly sites in Hülben and Hengen, in close proximity to the original plant in Bad Urach, we have established an extremely effective quality assurance system. Lightweight, very stable and at the same time absolutely reliable function for years - for our MAGURA brakes we realize these aspects with several plastics developed in-house. To call them plastics would be a real insult.
We see ourselves as architects of our materials: this is how our basic material Carbotecture®, a combination of terms from carbon and architecture, came into being. A mixture of high-tech polymers and carbon or glass fibers is transformed into plastic granules in several complex processes. During the manufacturing process from this granulate to the finished component, the carbon fibers are optimally aligned to the load requirements. With this Carboflow process, any desired shape can be realized from the granulate in an injection molding process. Compared with the classic lightweight material aluminum, our Carbotecture® offers significant advantages: With identical tensile and breaking strength of aluminum, Carbotecture® is 50% lighter, so it weighs only half! Carbotecture® is a dream material, but only thanks to our sophisticated machines and processes: smooth surfaces in all complex shapes are possible. This is how our stiff yet lightweight brake handles are created. BMW also relies on the special properties of Carbotecture for its motorcycles, and the clutch master cylinder of the BMW GS is also made of this material.
In our Carbotecture SL® material, we increase this resistance while reducing weight by incorporating medium-length instead of short carbon fibers into the polyamides. The brake handles of our test-winning MT disc brake series are made of Carbotecture® and Carbotecture SL®.
Another material is Carbolay®, which is produced in a fully automated process. In this process, the carbon fibers are positioned in line with the load using a textile process and impregnated with resin in a mold fully automatically. This allows brake levers to be produced in Carbolay® in an appealing and ergonomically optimized form: Perfect finger force transmission thanks to high rigidity combined with low component weight.

Canadian Buyer - Have swapped over my fleet of 8 bikes to all use these brakes. They are half the price of a similar Shimano 4 piston SLX and I think perform better in every way. Non side specific levers is an awesome feature. Almost never require a bleed. I am just having to bleed my first set now that they are reaching the 3000km mark of hard enduro riding.

Ich habe vor kurzem dieses Set gekauft und bin absolut zufrieden, vor allem zu dem Preis! Die Bremsscheiben passen 100% zu der MT5. Alles in einem eine sehr gute Bremsenkombination!
