SyncDrive Pro 2
The SyncDrive Pro 2 e-bike motors were developed together with Yamaha and specially adapted to the respective Giant e-bikes. The powerful premium drive impresses with its compact design and clearly performance-orientated tuning. Weighing just 2.7 kg (6.17 lbs), the motor is 0.4 kg (0.63 lbs) lighter than the previous SyncDrive Pro generation.
Despite the lower weight, the SyncDrive Pro 2 delivers a high torque of 85 Nm with reduced noise development. The immediate response behaviour and the narrow Q-factor are retained and support an efficient, natural pedalling motion. Even at high pedalling frequencies, the full motor power is available without any noticeable loss of power, making even steep climbs easier to master.
Thanks to the narrow clutch spacing and the instantaneous intervention of the assistance, the motor shows its strengths particularly on technical uphills and when "ratcheting", when short, precise pedalling movements are required. The support levels can be individually adjusted up to 400 % and allow the motor characteristics to be specifically adapted to the riding style and terrain.
The SyncDrive Pro 2 integrates seamlessly into the frame and offers 37 mm more bottom bracket clearance without affecting the Q-factor. The system is complemented by the Smart Assist mode with six sensors for automatically adaptive, particularly natural power delivery and an intelligent push assist. This powerful and versatile motor opens up new possibilities for even more control and riding enjoyment in demanding mountain bike use.
