The new CX400 takes one of Lake's best-known performance platforms and evolves the original customisable design into a modern, race-oriented cycling shoe. Based on the Lake Race last, the CX400 offers direct power transmission, high stability and an instantly comfortable fit - without any heat moulding.
Road cycling shoe for maximum efficiency and comfort: the CX400 from Lake
With a slightly narrower toe box, narrower heel and lower overall volume than the Competition and Sport lasts, the shoe has been specially developed for high cadences and a slim performance fit.
The fully carbon reinforced sole ensures maximum stiffness where efficient power transfer is crucial, while targeted flex zones increase comfort on long rides. The construction adapts naturally to the shape of the foot and combines racing performance with long-distance comfort.
The Clarino microfibre upper with strategically placed perforations offers a lightweight, breathable feel and retains its shape even under load. At the same time, the construction supports the natural biomechanics of the foot and ensures a secure hold during intense exertion. The integrated BOA® Fit System with Li2 push/pull twist fasteners enables precise fine adjustment of the fit. In combination with Lake's high-quality construction, precise last moulds and first-class materials, the result is an exceptionally comfortable high-performance cycling shoe.

With a profile specifically designed for very high cadence and higher pressure, the Competition last has a more curved profile than the Sport last. Key differences include a wider toe box and heel lift, a firmer heel and a slightly wider ball of the foot to allow the foot to expand under high pedalling pressure.
