Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Product information "CX21C-X Wide - Road Bike Shoes"
The CX21C combines timeless style with modern road bike performance and a high level of comfort. Based on the proven Lake Competition last and inspired by the CX238, the shoe is aimed at riders who prefer the customisability and natural feel of a classic lacing system.
Classic road cycling shoe with modern performance: the CX21C from Lake
The padded one-piece upper material moulds to the foot like a second skin and, together with the internal heel support liner, ensures a secure fit and a high level of comfort. The full carbon sole ensures direct power transmission and maximum efficiency with every pedal stroke. The CX/TX Competition last was specially developed for high pedalling frequencies and intensive loads. It has a narrower heel, a slightly wider ball width and a stronger curvature with increased toe angle and heel lift. As a result, the foot remains stable and comfortably positioned even under high pedalling pressure.
The Lake Competition 100% carbon fibre sole offers maximum stiffness and is compatible with a 3-hole cleat system, providing versatile adjustment options for the optimum pedal position. The lightweight Clarino microfibre upper combines durability with comfort. The minimal toe protection provides additional protection for the forefoot area, while the naturally moulded toe box offers sufficient freedom of movement. The durable and replaceable laces enable a particularly precise and even adjustment of the fit.
