The AquaShield Waterproof Winter Road Shoe Covers have been designed for road cyclists who carry on cycling even when the roads are cold, wet and full of spray in winter. The extra-high cut is a key feature of the protection: it extends well beyond the ankle to the lower leg, ensuring a better overlap with winter tights or leg warmers. This provides better protection for the ankles, lower legs and the upper part of the shoe against rain, spray and cold wind. As a result, these shoe covers are particularly suitable for challenging rides in wet and cold weather.
Coated 3 mm neoprene provides flexible thermal insulation and helps to repel water from rain and splashes. Waterproof-sealed seams reduce water ingress along the seam lines. IntelliSeal™ technology reinforces the lower hem – an area subject to particular wear and tear, which is constantly exposed to dirt, road salt, spray and repeated contact with the ground.
The design is tailored for regular use in winter. An abrasion-resistant sole pad offers additional protection against repeated contact with the ground, whilst the crank arm guard protects the insides from friction caused by the crank. Reflective details enhance visibility in low-light winter conditions.
The AquaShield Waterproof Winter Road Shoe Covers have been developed for cold and wet road cycling rides and offer extra-high water protection, warmth and durability when conventional shoe covers are no longer sufficient. As with all cycling shoe covers, however, water may still penetrate through unavoidable openings – for example, around the cleats, the sole of the shoe or the top edge – during prolonged and heavy rain.
