Technologies
In-Mould
In the in-mould construction process, the robust polycarbonate outer shell is bonded to the impact-absorbing EPS inner shell in a single operation whilst the latter is being foamed. This makes the helmet even more durable without adding any extra weight. This production process also enables the creation of significantly better ventilation systems and vents. In-mould helmets are therefore lighter than traditional helmets and feature significantly better ventilation systems.
MIPS® Multidirectional Impact Protection System
MIPS® is a slip-plane system inside the helmet, designed to slow down or absorb the amount of energy transferred towards or away from the head.
Wind Tunnel Ventilation
Wind Tunnel™ ventilation is Giro’s proprietary system of internal channels and active vents that direct cool, fresh air over and around your head, whilst expelling stifling heat and stale air. A difference you can see and feel – on every ride.
