Vega Carbon is Fizik's latest high-end road racing shoe, designed from the sole up to meet the demands of professionals and riders at the top of the peloton. With a highly rigid, integrated carbon sole, an innovative, ultra-light and breathable upper construction, an optimized shape and a more ergonomic fit, Vega meets all the requirements for lightness, high performance and efficient power transfer. The shoe is specifically designed to perfectly complement the geometry of contemporary road bikes, rider position and riding styles.
In recent years, the geometry of bicycles and the posture of riders have changed considerably. As a result, the contact points between riders and their bikes have had to evolve accordingly. With Vega, Fizik introduces a completely new shape - namely with a straighter axle and reduced drop to give a more primal feel when pedaling. Vega's roomier toe box provides more space and allows the foot to fully extend, resulting in a more body-mapped fit and more comfort during intense rides, be it stage races or weekly training sessions.
The Vega is equipped with an integrated full carbon sole that creates greater stiffness while reducing standover height. This advanced construction technique means that the outsole is actually inside the shoe and covered by the upper. This allows the height in the cleat area to be reduced and enables complete, ergonomic support of the arch of the foot. The anatomical shape and reduced drop promote stability and support of the foot, resulting in a much more efficient power transfer.
The upper of the Vega is characterized by an ingenious material distribution that uses different materials depending on the zone and required properties - breathable where ventilation is needed and supportive where comfort is a priority. For breathability and weight savings, Fizik has combined the Aeroweave fabric with a translucent mesh fabric to create an even lighter shoe that loses none of its original strength. In addition, a foot-enclosing bootie made of perforated Airprene fabric provides more comfort and a pressure-free fit - on race days as well as on long rides in the mountains.
With the Dual-Dial Li2 BOA® Fit System, the instep and forefoot areas can be adjusted separately to the individual fit. Two individual BOA® dials connected by panels wrap around the midfoot, allowing cyclists to customize the fit of the shoe to their unique foot shape for lasting support.
