Product information "Áspero 5 Ekar (returned item)"

This Áspero-5 from Cervélo is a returned item. The gravel bike shows signs of wear (paint damage to the down tube) and has only been ridden during a test ride.

Allow us to introduce: the Cervélo Áspero-5, a full-carbon gravel bike featuring Aerogenen and the new Campagnolo Ekar 13-speed groupset. The Áspero without the ‘5’ is already an excellent, fast gravel bike, but that little extra ‘5’ takes the Áspero to even greater heights. Even lighter, even faster, and looking just that bit better.

Features – Cervélo Áspero Ekar

  • Full-carbon gravel frame
  • Campagnolo Ekar 1x13-speed groupset
  • Campagnolo Ekar hydraulic disc brakes
  • Fulcrum Rapid Red 300 aluminium wheelset

Highlights

The Áspero-5 carbon frame
The Áspero-5 frame, which is even lighter than the Áspero, draws on extensive knowledge from road racing and is designed with WorldTour-level stiffness for greater power transfer, whilst using less and lighter material to aid climbing and acceleration, whilst simultaneously maximising speed with aerodynamic shapes that are crucial for efficiency at high speeds. Some say that aerodynamics don’t matter on a gravel bike. But when you’re battling a headwind, the Áspero-5’s reduced drag is a more than welcome relief. Most gravel races are ridden without the advantage of a World Tour peloton – or World Tour tactics – and when you’re riding with the wind in your face all day, it’s good to know that your bike is taking some of the strain off you.

650b or 28"
The bike can be adapted to various wheel/tyre combinations to maximise control. Cervélo has designed the bike to comfortably accommodate most 700x42 or 650x49 tyre/wheel combinations. Of course, there are variables – rim width, tyre sidewall height and tread depth – that affect the final tyre clearance. IMPORTANT NOTE – Cervélo always recommends a clearance of 4 mm all round, regardless of which tyre/wheel combination is fitted to the bike.

Two-position adjustment
‘Trail’ – the front wheel’s response to the rider’s input – is the most critical factor in high-speed handling. The ability to adjust the trail using the two-position ‘Trail Mixer’ to compensate for the extreme range of tyre sizes ensures a consistent riding experience.

Balanced handling
Stiffness and handling work together to make the bike’s path predictable and respond instantly to critical pedalling and tension inputs. The fork’s Trail Mixer adjusts the trail to minimise the impact on handling when switching between most common tyre sizes.

Versatile comfort
The vibration-damping carbon seatpost, which Cervélo has already used to great success on the R5 and Caledonia-5, the clever split spacers under the stem – so you don’t have to re-route your cables when adjusting the fit – and the new flared gravel handlebars ensure maximum comfort before and during your rides.

Please note that pedals are not included!
