Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Product information "Paranus MIPS - Trekking Helmet"
For even more safety and comfort: the Paranus MIPS trekking helmet from Alpina
The Alpina Paranus MIPS is the perfect helmet for demanding trekking tours where safety and comfort are paramount. Equipped with the innovative MIPS technology (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System), this helmet protects against dangerous rotational forces in the event of angled impacts and thus ensures additional safety in rough terrain.Features - Paranus MIPS

- Hi-EPS: small air chambers absorb forces in the event of an impact to protect the head
- Edge Protect: increases the durability of the helmet by covering the edges
- Inmold: the thermal connection between the upper and lower shell makes the helmet light and stable
- Ceramic Shell: break- and scratch-resistant, UV-stable and antistatic
- Run System Ergo MIPS: size adjustment system with integrated MIPS
- Ergomatic: closure that can be operated with one hand and remains firmly closed in the event of a fall
- Fly Net: the front ventilation openings of the helmet are fitted with a mesh fabric

Technologies
MIPS
MIPS is a system that protects against brain injuries that can be caused by rotational movements in the event of an impact. The low-friction insert enables a sliding movement of 10 to 15 mm in all directions and thus reduces the rotational movement in the event of a fall. MIPS therefore offers additional protection.
EDGE PROTECT
Edge Protect is a processing method that ensures that Inmold helmets have no sharp edges. This reduces the risk of injury in two ways: firstly, the hands are protected when handling the helmet, and secondly, in the event of an impact, the neck and shoulder area are protected from scratches on contact with the lower edge of the helmet.
HI-EPS
The inner shell of every Alpina helmet is made of Hi-EPS ("High Expanded Polystyrene"). It consists of microscopically small air chambers which optimally absorb the forces acting on the helmet in the event of an impact. HI-EPS ensures extra-thin wall thicknesses and narrow helmet shapes despite its optimum protective effect.
INMOLD
In the Inmold production process, the polycarbonate upper shell of the helmet is "bonded" to the EPS granules of the helmet body under high heat and pressure. This creates a large and inseparable bond between the upper and lower shells. Advantage: The helmet is very light and extremely stable at the same time.
CERAMIC SHELL
All Inmold-manufactured helmets from Alpina have this shatterproof and scratch-resistant polycarbonate shell. The blank is stretched under high heat to the shape of the later helmet and pressed under high pressure onto its Hi-EPS body. The material is characterized by several qualities at the same time: It is break- and scratch-resistant, UV-stable and antistatic.
RUN SYSTEM ERGO MIPS
The first fitting system with integrated MIPS. The RUN SYSTEM ERGO FLEX MIPS offers individual, height-adjustable adjustment of the helmet. This combination not only increases comfort, but also ensures additional safety in the event of impacts with rotational forces.
ERGOMATIC
Tried and tested hundreds of thousands of times and used in all Alpina bicycle helmets: the familiar buckle with red push button and multi-stage automatic latching mechanism. Ergomatic can be operated with one hand - uphill you can loosen the strap, downhill you can tighten it - and cannot open itself in the event of a fall.
FLY NET
The front ventilation openings of the helmet are fitted with a mesh fabric. This fulfills the same function as an insect screen and prevents insect bites on the scalp in hot and humid riding periods and locations.
SHIELD PROTECT
The removable shield protects against both splashing dirt and direct sunlight.
