Product information "Avid Elixir Trail X0/X9/X7/SRAM Guide R DiscPads"
High performance ACID brake pads for Avid Elixir Trail X0/X9/X7/SRAM Guide R disc brakes. With organic (resin) or sintered (metal) brake pad composition.
Abrasive substances used for 'organic' brake pads are usually made from fibres obtained from glass, rubber, carbon/Kevlar® or Twaron® combined with fillers and temperature-resistant synthetic or natural resin. These brake pads have a reputation for being softer and quieter, but they also have a reputation for being fast-wearing and creating more brake dust. They also tend to rub more after exposure to high temperatures. Designed for amateur and beginner cyclists.
Sintered
These brake pads have a reputation for offering longer durability and good hot braking characteristics but increase wear on the brake disc and are prone to noise generation. For downhill or freeride use.

Positives: -They last a really long time for organics -They are cheap Negatives: -Poor braking power compared to other organic pads Wouldn't recommend them for mtb, but they should be fine for commuting
