The new enduro benchmark for mixed terrain - the Mazza Trail TLR Graphene from Vittoria
Starting with a defined center tread, the Mazza uses deep siping in the direction of rotation, allowing the tire to roll fast while still opposing drift, especially in off-camber terrain. The stepped leading edge rolls like a ramp, but digs in on climbs, making Mazza a top choice for both front and rear use. Substantial room was designed into the center tread to provide braking traction, while also accelerating cleaning.Cornering on the Mazza is handled by Vittoria’s trademark progressive sipe width technology, which gives a gummy inside effective edge, but without the instability that competitors experience on the outside of the tread. Simply put, bigger sipes flex more than smaller sipes. This unique siping pattern creates asymmetrical tread flex, and translates into a predictable, confident, and communicative feel at the limit of cornering. Mazza’s generous tread depth claws into a range of terrain, and is stabilized with Vittoria’s proprietary 4C compound layering process. Four separate Graphene 2.0 compounds are layered, allowing the surface of the tread to remain tacky, while the base remains planted. This ensures each effective edge is kept in place under high cornering and braking loads, leading to reduced rolling resistance, and increased wear life. The bar has been raised.

Technology
Graphene 2.0
With the aim to always push the boundaries of what is possible, Vittoria succeeded in the development of a new generation of Graphene: GRAPHENE 2.0. Unlike the first-generation graphene, the new 2.0 graphene is functionalized to enhance specific tire performances. In other words, where the first generation of graphene compounds raised the bar evenly, Graphene 2.0 pin-points each performance metric, and increases it disproportionally to the rest. Vittoria is now able to apply Graphene in such a way that it can achieve a performance boost specifically for speed, wet grip, durability and puncture resistance. Vittoria 4 compounds (4C) technology
Vittoria 4C compound layering technology features separate base and surface compounds, in both the center and the side areas of the tread. This approach allows to fine-tune the flex of the tread-base and tread-surface separately, placing the correct hardness of the Graphene 2.0 compound exactly where it is needed for maximum cornering, climbing, rolling, and braking performance. In addition, durability and puncture protection are also improved, as the robust base compound resists punctures, and provides a stable base for deeper mountain bike treads. Each of the 4 layers is comprised of different natural and synthetic rubber types, blended into the compound that works best for the intended use. This allows for endless customizations of each layer according to the tire needs.
