The Vittoria Air-Liner Light Road is an ultra-lightweight tubeless insert designed to maximise performance in road racing. It improves bead stability, offers run-flat support and protects against impacts, whilst maintaining the fast, smooth ride that performance-oriented road cyclists expect.
With a specially formulated foam and a hexagonal profile, the Air-Liner Light Road fits seamlessly into the tyre. During normal driving, the insert remains compressed to ensure optimum rolling efficiency. In the event of a puncture, it expands as air pressure drops and supports the tyre from the inside. This allows the rider to continue in run-flat mode – whether to finish a race or get home safely after training – whilst the tyre bead remains securely in place.
Compared to the previous Air-Liner Road, the new Light version features an advanced foam formulation and a larger diameter for improved run-flat performance. It offers 5% greater resistance to burping at low air pressure than the previous model and 28% more than riding without an insert. This reduces the risk of the bead coming off and increases overall safety.
