Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Product information "Mc-Air MTB Flat Pedals"
Race approved flat pedal: The Mc-Air from Tatze
14 PINs with targeted cantilever provide enormous grip and a particularly rich connection between pedal and shoe. The two-row PINs on the inside provide enough grip, even if the shoe is placed a little further out. The large platform with 107x98x16,5mm (LxWxH) combines a secure stand with excellent lateral and ground clearance. The beveled front with stealth Impact corners let the pedal slide over obstacles and prevent dirt from collecting in the pedal. At Relief by e.g. Taking the leg on the inside of the curve off the pedal ensures a targeted rotational resistance that the pedal does not continue to rotate independently. This prevents unpleasant surprises from a vertical pedal. If you want the maximum efficiency of a very lightly rotating pedal, you can quickly and easily remove the built-in resistance ring. The MC-AIR is very high quality with a needle bearing inside and a deep groove ball bearing outside and is sealed several times.
Features - Tatze MC-Air
- Large contact surface of the flat side and fourteen pins in perfect arrangement
- Second pin row for grip when shoe position is not optimal
- Minimum width from crank for more side clearance
- Continuous platform up to the crank stop
- No disturbing elevations in the pedal body
- Bevelled front as impact protection
- Maximum ground clearance due to concave construction with three levels
- 16.5 mm flat platform despite high-quality needle bearings
- Stealth Edges to better absorb impacts
- Maximum ground clearance due to concave construction
- Defined rotation resistance in delivery condition due to inner X-ring
- High-quality bearing with needle bearing and grooved bearing, no wear, no bearing play, extremely durable
- Minimal rotational resistance after removal of the inner X-ring
