Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Frame-size in cm: multiply your Inside leg length by the factor 0.61. Frame size in inch: multiply your Inside leg length by the factor 0.24.If the theoretical value lies between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- Rather the smaller frame size when riding sportsmanlikely
- Rather the next frame in size when riding tour-orientated
- Deduct approx. 5 cm (or 2 inches respectively) of the theoretical size when using spring-mounted seat posts.

Technologies
Bleeding Edge
The Bleeding Edge™ technology enables quick and easy bleeding of the brakes. Thanks to the new fluid channel and the redesigned bleed port, the fluid can be pumped through the brake caliper more easily. A special adapter can be fitted to the bleed port and seals the system to prevent air ingress and fluid loss.
Expandable bladder
SRAM's new brake lever design includes a new bladder shape that can be used to regulate and reduce air bubbles. The bladder is specially shaped to pump air out of the lever and transport the fluid exactly where it is needed. The result is improved back pressure relief for reliable and consistent braking performance.
PiggyBack™ reservoir
The brake fluid reservoir on SRAM's latest lever design is optimised for performance and ease of use. The PiggyBack™ reservoir offers a simple and safe solution for controlling brake fluid and also allows the levers to be mounted on both sides - so you can swap your levers on the handlebars and brake as easily as on a motorbike.
Twist grip bearing
Sealed precision bearings on the twist grip ensure clean, precise grip movement and enable smooth operation with just one finger.
TPC Plus™ (Timing Port Closure)
The synchronisation port of a hydraulic brake is the connection between the reservoir and the master cylinder bore. When the lever is actuated, a cup seal passes through this area and closes the port, pressurising the system. SRAM's new TPC Plus™ sync port closure system features durable seals and an ultra-soft cylinder bore surface for reliable and consistent braking performance.
DirectLink™
SRAM's DirectLink™ lever design provides a solid, positive braking feel as soon as the brake lever is pulled - a no-compromise solution for precise control.
DOT 5.1™
Heat is the enemy of every braking system. Better heat management also makes your ride much safer. We've found that DOT 5.1 takes three times longer to reach boiling point than DOT 4. This ensures smooth and uninterrupted braking power in even more extreme conditions.
