Calculate frame size
The right size of your hardtail mountain-bike:
The Inside leg length is multiplied by 0.226 and thus you get the theoretical value of the frame size in inch. One inch equals 2.54 cm.
If the theoretical value is in-between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- choose the smaller size when riding athletically
- choose the larger size when riding tour-orientated
How to determine your Inside leg length:
The Inside leg length or stride height is the length of the inside of the leg. The most accurate way to measure your stride length is to use a spirit level and a tape measure or folding rule. Stand barefoot on a flat surface, clamp the spirit level horizontally between your legs and measure the distance from the upper edge of the spirit level to the ground. This value corresponds to your stride length.
Alternatively, you can also determine your frame height based on your height, see the table below. However, the method using inseam length is more accurate.

Frame-size in cm: multiply your Inside leg length by the factor 0.61. Frame size in inch: multiply your Inside leg length by the factor 0.24.If the theoretical value lies between two sizes, the following rule of thumb can be applied:
- Rather the smaller frame size when riding sportsmanlikely
- Rather the next frame in size when riding tour-orientated
- Deduct approx. 5 cm (or 2 inches respectively) of the theoretical size when using spring-mounted seat posts.

Product information "DEORE RD-M6200-SGS 12-speed Rear Derailleur"
Legendary performance further developed - with modern robustness, smoother shifting and a consistently rider-orientated design: the DEORE RD-M7200 12-speed rear derailleur with long cage and SHIMANO SHADOW ES technology. New technologies, robust construction and a modern design make the new DEORE family an attractive upgrade option for demanding mountain bikers.
Robust, intuitive and mechanical: DEORE RD-M7200-SGS 12-speed rear derailleur from Shimano
With components for a wide range of applications and a look inspired by the black and grey design of the DEORE Di2, SHIMANO presents the new DEORE M7200/M6200 family. The new generation combines the typical characteristics of a genuine MTB component group: powerful and constant braking performance, fast mechanical shifting under load, a particularly robust rear derailleur and ergonomically optimised operation.
Developed for riders who value durability, precise shifting, mechanical simplicity and reliable braking performance, the new DEORE series offers numerous technologies from higher SHIMANO MTB groupsets.
- Robust drivetrain design - developed to reliably withstand impacts and obstacles on the trail.
- Modern mechanical shifting performance - proven cable shifting with optimised ergonomics.
- Improved chain stability - new chain stabiliser and double spring design increase spring tension by 70% for more chain retention and reliability.
- Controlled braking power - consistent performance and precise modulation over a wider temperature range.
Robust drivetrain design - At the centre of the new DEORE M7200/M6200 drivetrains is a newly developed rear derailleur that shifts precisely and reliably even under high loads. The ache wedge-shaped design of the chain stabiliser is based on technologies from current SHIMANO Di2 MTB rear derailleurs. Thanks to the compact design, obstacles are better deflected and the risk of getting caught on stones or roots is reduced. After an impact, the rear derailleur can return to its original position without impairing the shifting function.
Features - Shimano DEORE RD-M7200-SGS 12-speed rear derailleur | HYPERGLIDE+
- Flat profile: SHIMANO SHADOW ES technology reduces the forward-facing surface of the rear derailleur and minimises contact points for stones or roots
- Robust construction: Wide joint structures and solid derailleur pulleys increase durability and reduce the ingress of dirt
- New chain stabilisation : SHIMANO SHADOW ES technology with double spring construction increases chain tension for better chain retention
- HYPERGLIDE+: Maximum shifting speed under load or maximum durability and smooth running
